A Long Distance Love Story

Savannah (Amanda Seyfried) meets John (Channing Tatum) while on spring break (he is on leave from overseas) the two hit is off and fall in love. He promises to write to her and she to him and the letter they write to each other make up this story. For the next 7 years the keep in touch and share their feelings (good and bad) through their letters.

This is an adaptation from the book by Nicolas Sparks and is pretty true to the book. It is well written and well acted. It has good moments and some not so good moments but overall it was a very entertaining story.

Also starring in this movie are: D.J. Cotrona, Henry Thomas, and Richard Jenkins

good movie

I saw "Dear John" at a special screening and I wasn't expecting much. I thought it was going to be a decent romance film. I hoped this movie came halfway as good as "The Notebook". My very low expectations of this film were pretty cynical. But I said Hey, what could happen? And when the movie finished, I was fulfilled. I didn't think it was going to be one of the best romance movies ever and it definitely wasn't. This movie is definitely for couples. The girls will like it cause they can connect with it.I recommend for everyone to see this film. It is touching, okay acting, and it does stick to the book. This film doesn't come close to the "Notebook", but people will like it no matter what. So if you want to buy a sad, romantic film. Then I'd recommend this film.Read full review...

Heartwarming through and through

Loved the story, the characters, and the actors in their roles. This is one of those romances that has to overcome obstacles that would kill the hearts of others, but not in this movie. I love Amanda Seyfried as an actress and wanted to see her work on the film. Plus I love romantic films. The film was good it could have had a better ending but I still enjoyed it.
