Great Laptop

Dell's business class Latitude laptops may be some of the best in the industry. For all around computing this E6420 is up to anything you throw at it. Although is is not a gaming unit, it can handle most games well with its high resolution screen, 8 gig memory and i5 processor, but install a SSD in this machine and it will fly. If you want a longer battery life go for the optional 9.5 hour battery. Depending on which of the three batteries you choose the laptop can be a bit heavy. If you use your laptop in a dark environment then you will love the lighted keyboard. All laptop components are easily accessible. The hard drive slides out like a cassette for easy upgrading. The only down side of this laptop is that is is limited to only 8 gig memory.Read full review...

Speedy service but....

Fast and timely. But remember for future if you install 8gb ram install a 64 bit operating system not a 32 bit otherwise you have unusable ram and now have to reinstall Windows 64 bit operating system and if your going to say it's a multi touch LCD screen i expect that, this one is not and as well as, as soon as I turned the computer on Microsoft security found hack toolRead full review...

Nice laptop, Rugged, simple, reliable

For an "older" laptop, this one is a great find at a reasonable price. Windows 7 (the last Windows version anybody would want at this time) fits well here. Speed is good (unless/until you allow Windows to install every update known to man, then it gets slow. Clean install, shut OFF updates!) and features are nice.

Hard shell case and spill-resistant keyboard are great for added protection.

One downside I can see is wireless switch on right side of keyboard - turns off too easily leaving you without a connection.

Batter life with 6-cell pack is OK, but a 9-cell would be better if you need to work without being plugged in for any length of time.

Heavier than comparable units due to it's sturdier construction, but Dell is a solid machine - this one especially so - so it you crave light weight - pick a lighter (and less sturdy) machine.

I'd buy it again.

Dell E6420 IS LIGHT WEIGHT AND SUPER FAST Great Quality!

I LOVE MY DELL! This laptop is excellent. I will by more in the future. It is fast and user friendly. It is compact and has all the bells and whistles. Super Quiet and super fast! I like using the HDMI cable to stream movies to my 60 inch flat screen.
I use it for everything, banking, work reports, watching movies, indexing, email, social media and so much more. Highly recommend this laptop.

Excellent performance, Exceptional build quality Great battery life.

The Dell E6420 is a laptop with excellent build quality, excellent keyboard feel and is easy to customize for individual needs, it has a full height WWAN slot which can be used other PCI-e devices, Laptop also features excellent thermal management and QUIET fans, For most of my field work I use Panasonic toughbooks which have NO fan so I am very impressed with the very low noise level of the fan especially since I work in many nearly silent environments. Battery life with the optional high capacity battery is on the order of 8 hours with normal desktop work and wifi enabled. The only downside is laptop is a little on the heavy side but that's a price you pay for the ruggedness of this laptopRead full review...

Fast and with great features.

It's not heavy like a lot of laptops but it's not lightweight as the newer ones. It is very quick however and pages load very fast. The display is a great size and especially with the wide width. It has a lot of USB ports as well as having an HDMI port. I found the battery life to last a lot longer than an HP laptop of the same caliber. All in all I am very satisfied with it.Read full review...

Super buy with extra delights

On delivery the packaging was great. No issue on power up. My upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to 10 went without a flaw. Only an internal camera issue was found later, which I attribute to Windows 10, since its driver was not known in Device Manager. No marks or scratches on the case, I am totally pleased. What a bargain deal, I would encourage anyone to deal with this supplier. Five Star vendor both in product and delivery.Read full review...

Great machine, a lot of features for the size and price.

I needed a machine that was reasonably fast, with a webcam, decent screen size, battery life and not too big. The 6420 seemed to fit most of the prerequisites I had in mind. I also appreciate the fact that it has HDMI capability since I use this computer to stream on a TV. One minor down side is that this machine does not have USB 3.0, but this is not a show stopper.Read full review...

This is the perfect laptop for a Field Service person.

This style notebook is fantastic, it can go anywhere. works perfect indoors or outside at job sites.
I would rate this as very equal if not lighter in weight to a semi rugged panasonic. The handle feature is great, does not get in the way when using the notebook. Good port covers. Packed with features, Win 7 Pro 32bit handles legacy apps with no issues. Been thru a lot of different style/types of laptops and this one seems to be the best so far.Read full review...

Spanish Dell Latitude

although it is darn near impossible to buy a Spanish computer in the US, I found this one, knowing it was an older model, but truly in like new condition.
The battery was OK when I got it, but soon found out that the battery life was less than anticipated for a new computer - I needed to remind myself that the battery was probably sitting unused for a few years.
The most frustrating feature is that the Spanish language option built into the computer does not match the keyboard, i.e. the keystrokes don't necessarily type what the keyboard indicates.
