Ozzy Osbourne diary of a madman

Tried to hear the difference between this and the infamous 2002 re- recording of bass and drums. Couldn't hear any so I assume the original with Kerslake and Daisley are no longer available. The live bonus show, however, is incredible. Tommy Aldridge said he had a whole box of better sounding tapes than the Tribute album, and this is one. The sound is better, and Randy's guitar is almost too loud in the mix. His playing, however is ferocious, totally ripping with not even a hint of any bad notes. "No Bone Movies" and "Goodbye to Romance " are missing, but really doesn't matter. Saw the first tour, but missed the second one, which I'll regret forever, but 40 years later this is a nice surprise.Read full review...

The original cd is here. Plus more.

THis is a classic metal cd from Ozzy. The 2002 remaster rerecorded the bass and drums and on this one we get the original mix and drums and bass back. However we do not get the original bonus tracks from that one. Instead we get a second cd of a live show featuring Randy Rhoades. and it's fantastic!. I would say if you have the 2002 version keep it for the bonus songs. But also get this one for the second cd and original drums and bass. The cd itself is a true classic. With every song being very well written and played. Ozzy created two of the best metal cds of all time and this is one of them. Not that his other stuff isn't very good though!. This was perfection and it remains so. The sound on this remaster is very good too. Get it. Read full review...

One of the best albums ever!

The 2nd album by Ozzy Osbourne after leaving Black Sabbath is truly a masterpiece. From the rocking "Over The Mountain" to the beautiful ballad "Tonight", all 8 tracks are great! Randy Rhoads' guitar is fantastic, sadly he died during the tour for this album. In this 2 Disc version you also get a live concert from 1981 that includes most of Ozzy's first album "Blizzard of Ozz", as well as 2 songs from "Diary" and a few Sabbath songs as well. This is the version of "Diary" everyone should own.Read full review...
