SNES Beauty & the Beast review

This game has become more expensive, I suppose because it had a smaller production run than other games. So expect to pay up to 100 for a copy in good shape.
Despite reading some negative reviews, I really wanted this game and was not disappointed. Is it a masterpiece for the SNES? No, but it's fun.
The music from the game sounds great if you're familiar with the songs from the movie.
The graphics are big and well done, although several levels are a bit too dark on screen.
The gameplay is fun after you figure out the mechanics. I don't know that a 5 or even ten year old would make it past the first level, but for older gamers, it's no problem. I breezed through the first half of the game without much trouble. Some levels will require REPEATED play throughs though. Kind of old school in that regard - I love games like that, others may not.
Beauty & the Beast is not for someone looking for an easy game. I would rate it's difficulty as 7 out of 10. There is a cheat code that allows you to level select basically. Too tough for kids!

This is a very tough game. I bought it for my 5 year old daughter because she loves Beauty and the Beast, but it is way too difficult for her to enjoy. So, I end up playing the game while she watches. Do not get this game unless you are ready for a challenge and have lots of time to memorize each level.Read full review...

Good, classic, SNES game. Only dislike about this game, is how you only have a certain amount of lives, and theres no SAVE button. If your on level 6, and you get a game over, you have to start back at level 1 -__-Read full review...

Beauty & the Beast

The best - I loved it just as much as the movie. The graphics and gameplay were quite excellent for the time period in the 1990's.

collectors will want it, gamers won't

Good game for a classic movie, it's alright, nothing to go running out to buy but if you are a collector it isn't something you want to gloss over!
