Don't pass this up!
I haven't used it extensively yet, but I did have to use it on a bad nut while working on a snow blower a few days after purchasing this and it seemed to have enough power to cut it off, even though it was a small one. It came with a nice little set of various bits, many I had already from corded machines, but you can never have too many.
The case has a slot to one side for holding one of those small blue cases with the clear top. There's a kit on eBay here for around $10 that comes with like 75 pieces.
Not much else I can say about this little tool, it is a bit bigger than a standard Dremel, but that's mainly because of the battery, which is fine by me.Read full review...

Could've been better...
I grabbed this to replace a Bosch rotary tool that was stolen. I figured it would be just as nice since Bosch owns Dremel. But to my surprise, it was really rough and had really poor bearings. I had used my Bosch for 4 hard years, and when I started up this Dremel, I expected it to be smooth.
**Now, this is a refurb, and my first refurbished tool I've ever bought. So perhaps, in its refurbishment, the bearings were not replaced? I don't know? It's been almost a decade since I last used a Dremel due to having issues with their products. However, between less expensive versions, and knock-off corded versions, I will hopefully assume this was a porrer quality, as It was so rough, due to just being a One-Off. Either way, it's not a very good tool. The Bosch is the best Cordless, and the Black and Decker RTX bis the best corded.
Good luck... and try the Bosch!

ready to use all the time
I have always been a dremel person Mainly because I have not found a comparative rotary tool. I had one battery operated tool for approx ten years and The batteries finally gave up the ghost and the item was no longer available . So as I was already talking to Dremel on the phone and asked some question and a little over a yer ago, I purchased
a dremel 8220 that came with two batteries so that I could charge one while I was using the second battery. I needed a second dremel because I was working leather project and had purchased a dremel drill press and didn't want to be taking the unit on and off the drill press constantly so I purchased another of what I consider to be the best dremel yet. It has not fail me it is always ready when I am the 8220 and the new battery technology cannot be beat.Read full review...

It works well and is easy to use.
I purchased this to trim rooster's spurs. The roos can injure hens during mating with sharp spur tips. Danger eliminated. Due to it being cordless it's easy to bring in, where ever you need it. Easy to regulate speed. Comes with some accessories, which include a cutting blade.Read full review...

Dremel cordless rotary tool 8200
We use this appox 3 days a wk. for 2 1/2 hours those days .
we use it for detail wood working .
its has been on the production line for appox. 1 no with no problems .
I don't know how well it will stand up being used in the saw dust it is subjected to.
so far so good ,air cleaned after use daily.
I thought I probably should get a extra battery ,but at the present the one that came with it ,
is retaining enough charge to last the day.
for a hobby or home user probably for years. Read full review...

Dreamed 8220
Excellent cordless tool. This frees my corded version to remain installed in my drill press stand. Uses all the same tools from my old corded dermal so no need to buy different ones. It is a little larger than the corded unit but that hasn't been an issue yet. It has good power- I used it to modify a metal latch plate on a door and it powered through the metal using a diamond bit. I tried one of the 7.2 volt versions of the Dremel but didn't like the limitation of only 2 speeds. Read full review...

over all good
the only thing that made me look at it in detail was the handle of it seemed greasy and when i turned it over it appeared to have 2 small holes in the rubber area where the 2 sides of the frame meet, probably by small screws... i really didnt like that so i cleaned the handle so its not greasy anymore but i cant do anything about the holes. other than that i think its a great product for the money if you travel working on jobs but if its for a work bench at home get a corded version because the battery doesnt last more than 1hr continuous runtime.Read full review...

The Best of the Best
Love this Dremel…has infinite power 35K RPMs if needed and battery life is impressively good! Looking for another battery now, so I can switch them in between charges. Can’t beat the deal though would have paid over double in a retail store. Now that’s a big fat W for me!! Get one you won’t be disappointed. Read full review...

Slighty bigger but better in every way...
The adjustability of speed seems alot finer compared to the plug in models. It also stops on a dime as soon as you shut it off making it more controlled and safer. Depending on the amount of work you do per day I recommend most everyone should look at buying a second battery. Having it shut off and then waiting for it to recharge in the middle of work or a project is not convenient at all. Read full review...

Dremel
I'm replacing an older model of this Dremel that I lost. The retailer had a very good price and it came a week before it was do to arrive. One thing that had me puzzled was that the battery was in the tool instead of the slot in the case where it should be kept. Someone must have opened this new tool before however it seems fine.Read full review...
Best Dremel rotary tool i've owned!
I've have had and still have a number of Dremel rotary tools, both corded and cordless,
and this one seems like it will be the best yet.
I have yet to use it on projects, but out of the box it runs strong and smooth,
and the build quality is also really good.
I will try to do a follow up review after I've had a chance to do some work on projects with it. Read full review...
