Fun game, but

it is not what I consider good SIM racing like the GT series. I also preferred the NFS Shift and Shift 2 as better SIM games. This Drive Club game made me feel that it was "enabling" me to win or maybe medium is too easy, but for sure hard was way too hard. The NFS Shift games I set on hard then go back to medium to win the races I could not win on hard.Read full review...

Awesome driving sim

I recently upgraded from PS3 to PS4. I'm used to Grand Turismo, but there isn't a version for PS4. I went looking for a driving game and bought Cars 2, Assetto Corsa and Drive Club. Although I'm not using any of the "club" features, I find this game the most enjoyable to play of the three. The best racing game...ever?

Ignore the Microsoft fanboy who reviewed the game on this site (joednyc). The controls are perfect. Like any good game it takes some getting used to. Easy to learn but hard to master, right?

There's a decently high skill ceiling in the game. When you first start a race, you may do horribly, but if you practice and overcome it (kinda like Dark Souls, heh), there's a great feeling of reward.

And overall, it's very fun. The graphics are the best I've ever seen for a racer and certainly better than Forza *Horizon*, lol. Look up some comparison shots and see for yourself. DRIVECLUB destroys the competition. ;)

Anyway, in closing, this game got a bad rap at launch. It launched with multiple issues, including disabled online functionality for some features (like challenges) and just a spotty online performance in general (it would frequently drop if it ever worked at all). It's a lot better now. I can consistently get into online races and have a great time. The game rewards perseverance and patience, and it's a blast "getting there" (ie: winning races) in and of itself. There's also tons of little things to keep you playing, like mini-challenges within the races (maintain a top speed on a section of the track, maintain a perfect line through a section of the course, etc.)

DriveClub for PS4

When I saw the price and the year it was released, I figured it was going to be just another driving game....BOY WAS I WRONG!! I did some research and found that the designers had a trademark 9 years before the game came out. The cars are some of the fastest and most expensive in the world. They really paid attention to detail right down to the glare of the headlights at night.
The better you compete the more car options open up for you.
Definitely recommend this game to any age player and you just can't beat the price.Read full review...
