Great bang for the buck

I use this in the effects Loop for a boost in my tube amp. So it works great in front of a tube screamer also to thicken it up a little going into the front of an amp.

A lot of people think this is a clean boost but it is not so if you are looking for a clean boost this isn't your pedal but if you are looking for something to beef up your tone this will do the trickRead full review...

Love the sound, not the noise

This thing cranks the heck out of your signal, and into my amp it pushes a cleanish sound into a great rhythm overdrive sound. However, I wanted it mainly as a boost for solos into a gained-up amp and although it sounds really good it also adds a lot of noise. It also seems more sensitive to random string and cable noise than my overdrives. I still like it, but I'm not using it much.Read full review...

Awesome in front of a tube amp

This sounds awesome in front of my tube amps. I use a Carvin Belair and various Fender tube amps. It just overdrives the input a bit, or a lot depending on how high you turn the knob. Basically, that cool, juicy, saturated tube sound you get from a clean amp when its turned up loud you can get it at any volume.
You can also combine it with other overdrive or distortion pedals or use it as a boost for solos. But I like to just leave it on because it sounds so good.
My only complaint is that the jacks are a little touchy and one may need replacing. They are some kind of funky jack that mounts to the PCB and one side is not making a good connection. It was used, but isnt worn out.

UPDATE 8/20/11

I opened it up and noticed the PCB mounted jacks had broken solder joints. They looked like bad soldering- whitish and rough looking, not smooth and silver like a good one (cold solder joint?).

Anyway, I resoldered them and it works fine now. This is a great pedal, but for some reason mine had some sloppy assembly work as other solder points look sloppy and not properly flowed so I may have to do more fixing, but for now it works.

Great Sounding Booster!

Heard that Ace and some other pro axe slingers used this pedal, but not much info on all that, or great sounding demos, so was worried I may have made a foolish purchase! But low and behold it sounds great even thru my cheapo solid state amp! And to a wannabee guitarist/musician.. if'n it sounds good it is good!Read full review...

Exactly as it should be!

This pedal is exactly what I wanted... I already have one as a clean boost at the end off my pedal board but I asking loved it as a saturation boost for my gain overdrive pedals too... So two over these are absolutely needed this... it works great as my other LPB1. ThanksRead full review...

Original LPB-1 when I owned it in the late 60'ss

It was cool...but too distorted for the little Kingston amp I owned...but this thing rocks with 15 watt Princeton Reverbs, Tweed Deluxe Reverbs and even my 57 Champ - it works great with PU's rolled slightly back and the LPB1 at about 1/3 to 2/3's full on...Read full review...

Good 25 bucks spent

Good pedal, played it with my kramer with single coils through my marshall dsl 401. Gave it a little more sparkle, haven't tried it with humbuckers. Haven't really cranked it yet. So far, so good.
We'll see tomorrow.Read full review...

The best lead boost pedal ever!!!!!

I'm using this pedal purely as a lead boost and it is exactly what I've been looking for! I set it at about 11 o'clock and it boosts my lead breaks like no other, it adds just a hint of breakup to your sound without colouring it. Anything past 12 o'clock starts to get quite dirty so I don't push it too hard. You get searing lead tones with this baby that cut through the mix no problem, and it doesn't take up much room on my pedal board being a nano. Love it!!!!Read full review...

Nearly Perfect

Very clear sound. Perfect to increase a weak signal while adding no noise.
