Medici Money

Although this book presents so much valuable information, the manner in which it is presented makes the book almost completely unbearable. While managing to keep it light and pleasant, Parks beats around the bush to the point of causing the reader much angst. While reading this book, one may find themself completely swept away with the author's personal spins, his repetitive wordiness, and a feeling of constant boredom.
The book is historically accurate, presents a huge amount of very valuable information, and gives some very good insights into the life and workings of Renaissance Florence. However, this book also has the tendency to lose it's reader in the midst of its many many words, which in turn, creates dissatisfaction.
