I skin thousands of pounds of catfish a year and I've tried several different brands of skinners . These are absolutely worthless because the jaws dont match up and they are so dull they wont grab onto the skin . By far the worst investment I've ever made on fishing equipment, my old skinners are probably 5 years old and finally the spring collapsed after skipping several thousand pounds and I'm still using them until I can get another set . I like these rib skinner pliers, I can grab the membrane on inside of a slab of ribs and pull. The membrane pulls away easily with little effort. The pliers make the task much easier.
