Good Book - Could happen Here
Learned a great deal about N.Korea under KIM. Of course KIM is the guy our President "Agent Orange" called honorable. Nice national program to imprison people for no reason & then breed them like lab mice so they can work for free for the rest of their miserable lives. Very interesting.Read full review...

OK
Much detail of the survival tactics to prevail when escaping in a militant country.

One mans journey to freedom
Very informative as far as the struggles endured by a nation oppressed by a dictatorship that has no regard for its people. The only interests are for one man (Un) and only himself. NK can't deny the existence of inhumane labor camps.
Heard about the labor camp in NK through the media but not the experience of an individual who was born in the camp. Knowing and having a profound interest in NK's human right issue, I believe this book portrays the true existence of the labor camps in NK.Read full review...
Sobering characterization of horror and strength.
This book should be required reading for any student of civics, politics or history. I began reading it after I got home from work, and did not stop until I finished it. It's a heart wrenching, addictive tale of the human condition.Read full review...
Surprisingly disturbing...kept me awake all night
I had felt that I wanted Shin to tell the book himself instead of having the author tell it, though it did not stop me from reading this biography. The story will make an impact over time.
