Works great for two computers on a Spectrum Cable Internet-based Home Network!

This Splitter is compatible with Spectrum's Cable Internet (because of the fact that it states -3.5dB on the label above the "OUT" ports), and it is easy to install. You can easily connect two computers and two devices (e.g., a modem and a WiFi-disabled Router) on a home network with this Splitter. Of course, the signal will be split (once) betwixt two computers, but it still gives incredibly fast cable internet speeds for two Windows 7 computers used simultaneously. (After all, cell phone text messages are transmitted through telephone pole signals because it is faster than wireless technologies. From an Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) standpoint, wireless technologies are slower, less reliable, and more vulnerable to problems than wired connections.)

NOTE: Beware of the fact that using a Splitter for more than two computers (e.g., 3-way, 4-way, 8-way, etc.) on a single wired network will cause internet speed issues because of the signal being split more than once. The more times a signal is split, the decreased strength it will have in sending information to and from the network.

Simply plug one end of the Coaxial Cable to your cable wall outlet and the other end (of the Coax Cable) to the "IN" port on this Splitter. Then, connect one end of another Coaxial Cable to an "OUT" port on the Splitter, and the other end to a modem/ router. Connect a third Coaxial Cable: one end connects to the other "OUT" port on the Splitter, and the other end of the cable connects to your second modem/ router. Finally, use an Ethernet CAT5e or a CAT6 cable for each computer you wish to connect to the Internet, and plug those into the RJ-45 ports on the back of the modems/ routers.

Great Little Splitter

Very nice little splitter that I am using to send a signal to TV's in bedroom and den. I don't notice any degradation in signal and am very happy with this purchase.

Does the job...

This is a sturdy well-made splitter that doesn't attenuate the signal. It's a solid piece of metal with quality threads on the three sockets and should last a very long time. Price was very reasonable and I'm pleased with the purchase. Read full review...
