If you're going to read, go all the way. Otherwise don't even start.

Once you start page one, you'll quickly realize this book, like all of Bukowski's work, is made from anti-gravity materials.

..It's really hard to put down.

Factotum by Charles Bukowski (1975)

Another well-written Bukowski book, although not nearly his best work. Bukowski fans will greatly enjoy this novel, however for first time Bukowski readers I would reccommend "Ham on Rye." Overall, I enjoyed it, and easily related to the "down-and-out" protagonist, Henry Chinaski, as well as his feelings of apathy, mistrust, and general disgust with his the human race.Read full review...

Factotum

I bought this book because I had recently seen the movie version of it. I also am a Bukowski fan. I wanted to compare the book to the movie. It is a little different, but the movie stuck by the book fairly well. The condition of this book was brand new, which is nice, since I take care of my books. This book will definately be a part of my permanent collection.Read full review...

Worthwhile for Bukowski fans.

A good read on par with "Ham on Rye"
Bukowski is no Dylan Thomas but his
minamilist style works when the marginal
existence of an alcoholic is the theme.
There is a very thin plot as he haplessly
goes from one menial job to another.

Hilarious!

If you love Bukowski's intelligently crass satire this is the book for you. Henry Chinaski is a character you'll love to hate and oddly can't help rooting for.
