Simple Concept, Works Well

This is an absolute classic title, featuring all the most memorable characters from the show, cheesy storyline and dialogue, and of course, bizarre power ups.

The first thing you'll notice is you have to collect Felix icons to gain your powerups. Upon collecting a certain number of them, an upgrade will spawn and you'll have a few moments to grab it. Each one of these upgrades your Magic Bag, which change the way Felix attacks or interacts with the level. You must also collect milk in order to keep your Magic Bag at its current level.

The controls are really slippery in this one, so be careful. You'll probably have to play a few times to master the physics in this one. After that, its more or less just a rush to the right side of the screen.

There are a few different kinds of stages, including Flying stages, surfing stages and underwater stages. The goal is always the same, get to the end of the level.

The bosses in this game are pathetic. Most of them can be destroyed without much thought. Especially if you have the tank powerup. Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom.

Overall, this game is pretty good, though it is fairly short once you master the controls and powerup system.

A Good, but relatively easy platformer

Felix the Cat is an amusing title that often flies under the radar when it comes to NES collectors. Despite the little fanfare, it has engaging game play through a variety of level types (under water, flying levels) and numerous power ups somewhat reminiscent of Kirby's Adventure.

The game has decent graphics and the music is OK, but as stated above the game play steals the show here – though fans of the character and franchise will also enjoy this title. The only detractor, which barely qualifies as one depending on your perspective, is the fact that the game is pretty easy (also reminiscent of Kirby's Adventure.)

This lack of difficulty could be a redeeming factor actually, especially if you're eager to introduce a novice gamer to the 8-bit era. It is also a good game from a collector's standpoint. It's not the rarest NES game out there, but it is somewhat uncommon and should be a welcome member of any NES library.

Top notch!

Remembering this game from years ago, I saw it for sale and had to have it! Cute platformer about a cat trying to save his girlfriend from an evil professor. Fun, easy, and pretty true to the source material. Fun fact, Felix the cat was created in 1919 and was the first image transmitted via television. Read full review...

One of the better platformers on the NES

Still one of my favorite games from childhood. Perhaps a little easy by platforming standards it hasn't lost any of its charm over the years.

Brief but true evaluation of FELIX THE CAT for nes

Just as fun as mario, with more surprising power-ups. Someone who gets this game will not be disappointed.
