Electric Guitar with Keith Wyatt (DVD, 2002)

I bought this after looking through YouTube videos on different learning styles for beginning and more advanced learners. Wanted to get a feel for some of the more advanced DVD's. Due to when this was done it had to be accessed through a different program (VLC). has to be treated as a regular DVD Movie.
For the cost it was fun to look back through some licks and find some stuff that was very useful. It is a good addition to a players library and is useful if needing to teach someone young and inexperienced. Learning things that sound good from the start leaves a positive impression.

Getting Started on Electric Guitar with Keith Wyatt

I'm a total beginner on guitar. I got the teaser dvd with my guitar when I bought it. I've had it about a month and have been wearing out the DVD that came with the guitar. I love it because its very basic and doesn't lose me with to many terms I don't know yet. But I knew I'd want more than what the teaser would give. I bought the full length DVD and am even more impressed. It won't teach you to play over night but if you want to learn and don't want to spend money on lessons, or want additional help other than lessons, this is your DVD. I think anyone can learn to play with this DVD. Lessons are short and you can rewatch them over and over. Pratice tracks help the lesson make
sense.

Take it from someone with zero musical experience. In one month of having the guitar I have learned a ton and can actually keep up some playing rythm with certain songs. Check it out if your learning. I think you'll like it.

Not recommended for beginners - you have to know ALL the chords and tricks

"For the beginning guitarist" my eye. The teachings are so fast you can't pick up on anything. This DVD is for someone who has played and acoustic guitar for years but is just now wanting to learn on an electric. There is so much assumption it's pathetic. This is definitely NOT recommended for beginners. The only tidbit that was slow enough for a beginner, were three tracks for practicing the basic major chords A, D, E, and G but you can do that on your own.Read full review...

A very good start

My son has had a guitar for years and had not learned a lot about it until I bought him this book. The lessons are short enough to keep him interested but long enough to give him ideas. He uses it on a daily basis. It's a very good beginner's book.Read full review...

Good learning video

Keith does a great job explaining.

Doesn't go to fast and really seems to cover the essentials.

The graphics are well layed out and not to complicated. I would recommend this video to any new beginner.Read full review...
