Very satisfied with the Defender and the eBay price! Saved hundreds of $$$!

The air filter is easy to operate and thus far does what it's supposed to do. I recommend that you download the owners manual (pdf) to use the programming features. It has 3 operating settings. The low setting is the quietest setting and the two higher settings are a bit too noisy if you're in the room. The noise level of the upper two settings is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I would like to be able to run it at higher settings while I'm in bed. That's where the program feature comes in handy. For example, you can keep it on low while you sleep and program it to go into medium or high while you're at work! The programming has enough flexibility to meet most schedules and you always have the ability to override the program (home sick, etc.) without having to re-program it. The filter will flash a blinking red light on the control panel at the eleven-month mark and will stay on solid red at 12 months letting you know it's time to change the filter. Very simple, low maintenance and it's a Class 2 medical device! It's not designed for whole-house filtration and is best suited for the bedroom or other similar-sized room for best results. Not a 100% honest.

I bought this product to filter the air in my house do to my allergies. I already have two of them and this is my third one. It is enough to filter the air through out my entire house. They have made a difference in the congestion I used to suffer from because of the allergens in my house.
The product is a great air purifier. However, the one I purchased lasted not more than a week when the red light came on signifying that the filter needed to be changed. The filter is a $50 plus item so I spent $105 for the unit then I spent another $57 to replace the filter. The unit itself is just a case just to house the filter and direct the air through it to get it filtered. I'm sure the people that sold it to me knew how old the filter was and that it was about to need changing. Their ad said "It works great." Well that fact of the matter is that it works great only if I put a new filter in it. I feel that there was some deception in the sale of this product and that there should have been some adjustment in the price I paid because of the short life span left in the filter. So the ad that "It works great" was misleading. The ad should have read "It'll work great when you replace the filter at a cost of $50+." With the new filter it is a great product. Good filter, quiet on low speed

This air filter seems to be a good air filtration system. I have no way of measuring the air quality though to prove anything. The air seems cleaner though with it on. On the lowest setting it is fairly quiet. On medium setting it could be tolerated while sleep I'm sure but not sure you would want to watch TV with it on medium or high setting. High setting is noisy so this setting is usually used when we leave the house for a while.. I was going to sell these and that is how I came to feel this is the best air filter to use.. I bought mine used off Ebay for $100 so I think it was a great value but if you are paying full price, you are still getting a great value for what it does. A friend had a Filter Queen Defender & recommended it to us. We now have 3, one on each floor of our home. We have 2 cats & our house is very old so felt like we could use all 3. Best air freshener out there.....will never turn it off!

I heard a presentation from a filter queen salesman and we were willing to pay $1000 for this machine. The benefits are just that good. The design and performance is amazing. It really cleans the air. On the low setting is almost a whisper....on high, it is very loud. It really does help my allergies, takes away food odors and freshens most of my house not just a room. I would recommend it to anyone wanting fresh air. You can smell the difference and feel it. We even sleep better. The Best Sleep I've Ever Got In My Life

I used to sell these once upon a time and I absolutely love them. The fact that it's not a HEPA filter is a huge plus since HEPA filters are actually made out of fiber glass and clog up shortly upon use.
It's also a quiet machine and you hardly know it's even there.
The biggest success story for this machine is the fact that I bought it to put in my bedroom so I'm not inhaling dust or dust mites while I sleep. I've gotten the best sleep in my life since I have been running it. I feel energized in the morning and in a good mood which helps to get motivated to start my day.Read full review...

Great value for the money.

Lightweight. Easy to use. Filter comes out easily - for cleaning/replacement. Noisy on all three settings. Seems to work sounds like a shop vac especially on the high setting though (like used to dry industrial floors). To soon to tell if it will raise electric bill.
