Unique tale uniquely told.

Contrary to what the critics tell you, this really IS a story well-told. Square Pictures went bankrupt telling this story due to the complexity of the CGI done (it was very far ahead of it's time and is still, by current standards, pretty amazing). The story is complicated and, generally, the public don't like complicated - they also don't like stories that seem, in essence, to be of an environmental nature as many have stated about the story line. HOWEVER, sometimes a complicated story is a good one and, in this case, it is. Also, the "environmental" issue at hand seems to be more of spirituality (NOT religious in nature, mind you) than an environmentally preachy film like Ferngully or the abomination Happy Feet. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

Final Fantasy: the Spirits Within is a very well done CGI movie that depicts an altered earth that has a problem with alien phantoms. Hoki, who has been infected by one is on a quest to find 7 elements to help combat the phantoms. The movie focuses on Gaia the spirit of the earth, if you are a close follower of such a thing. I really love this movie

I've watched this many times, i just wanted a copy for myself to watch on my high rez monitor. I can't say enough about the artwork and atmosphere these talented people have created. Its very immersive for me. Theirs lots of suspense for first time watchers too, i wish i could go back and watch it again for the first time :D The storyline is only ok though, so if you like actions of characters to make perfect logical sense, you might be one to roll your eyes at times.Read full review...

Very impressive CG. The game Final Fantasy does not have to be played in order to understand the plot. A blend of sci-fi and action creates a extraordinary film that may be in the budget bin.

Futuristic storyling in anime-what more could you ask for?

This movie is anime that is so realistic I am glad I purchased it because it takes place in the future which I am avidly a fan of.
