Yes, this film made my collection! Get it in yours!

A feel-good drama, Fireproof has a strong agenda: stay married, lead an honest life, and let your faith in a higher power help guide you. A still boyish-looking Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains) stars as Caleb Holt, a mercurial-tempered firefighter whose marriage is on the rocks. He clearly enjoys his status as a hero, but it comes at the expense of his marriage. His wife Catherine (Erin Bethea) is tired of the distance and wants him to make more of an effort at home, rather than surf porn on the Internet and hoard his earnings toward his dream fishing boat instead of helping out her disabled mother. Faced with impending divorce, Caleb's dad challenges him to follow the "40-day love dare," in which each task (cook her dinner, say nothing negative, etc.) is meant for him to better understand love and commitment and try and win his wife back. The third film by brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick, Fireproof is the siblings' most polished feature. Cameron does a fine job of making Caleb real and believable, even when we're not always liking him. Though saddled at times with maudlin lines, Cameron adds emotion and range to his role. There is a not so subtle theme that the Holts--who at the beginning of the film are agnostic--needed religion to save their marriage. Clearly, Fireproof believes in its agenda and was made with the Christian audience in mind. Whether secular audiences will fall under its spell as well is debatable. But no one should walk away from the film offended.Read full review...

NEVER LEAVE YOUR PARTNER BEHIND

Features Actors:Kirk Cameron,Erin Bethea
Running Time:118 Min.
Rating:PG

Caleb Holt (Cameron) is a bad-ass firefighter who's made a name for himself as a bona-fide kid-rescuing hero in the Albany Fire Department. But as studly as he may be sliding down a shiny pole, Caleb's home life finds him disgruntled, temperamental and miserable. His marriage is in a tailspin and his wife (Erin Bethea) has decided to end things. Caleb is more than happy to oblige and is steps away from dissolving the relationship—until his father steps in. He implores Caleb to put off the divorce for 40 days and try something called "The Love Dare," a day-by-day, Godly guide towards rejuvenating a broken marriage. He's reluctant, but gives it a shot and at first nothing happens. Until Caleb discovers the key to pumping life back into his flaccid nuptials: shedding his old life and rededicating his existence to God. Will he be able to salvage his marriage?

Fireproof (DVD, 2009)

Fireproof is an excellent movie reguarding marriage. It can help to strengthen any marriage. Kirk Cameron plays the lead role as a fireman heading towards divorce. His father gives him a book and a challenge, The Love Dare. It's a 40 day guide to rejuvenate anyone's marriage. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. The best part is it's Christian based. Fireproof shows just how loving our God is. If you enjoy(ed) Fireproof, you may also like Flywheel and Facing the Giants.Read full review...

'Fireproof' your marriage. Excellent movie, great value.

Having seen "Fireproof" when it was at our local theatre, I was anxious to get several copies when it came out on DVD to give away to co-workers and for Christ-mas presents.

A struggling marriage between an angry, frustrated fireman and his hurting, aloof wife is transformed through the use of a 'Love Dare', leading to his salvation and a genuine relationship with Christ.

Highly recommended, especially for marrieds or those experiencing difficult circumstances that seem insurmountable and unfair. This is the latest in a series of Christian themed movies from this group, and it's great. Check out 'Courageous' as well!

FIRE PROOF (DVD) (FANTASTIC MOVIE)

This movie is for everyone to see. What you see in this movie is exactly what happens in real life. We all have problems in and out of marriage. And it shows who we need to go to for the answers. God has blessed this movie and to show His love to all of us. The Lord wants us to have a happy marriage. And that can only happen if you let Him in your marriage. This movie shows us how selfish we can be and how we are to love our spouse. This movie is serious, and funny, and is the real deal! I pray that everyone will take the time to really listen to what this movie is trying to tell us. God Is Good, in the bad times and in the good times. This movie spoke to my heart and showed me things in my marriage and we are married 42 years. Only God can keep marriages together if you let Him lead your marriage! Fireproof "The Movie"

MOVIE REVIEW

Fireproof

Hollywood isn’t known for its portrayal of what love is supposed to be like – selfless, honest, and faithful. Often, films are wrought with adultery, abuse, and easy divorces. That’s what makes Fireproof, a new drama is that it tackles a prominent major cultural issue – marriages on the brink of divorce.

This movie is one of the best at showing what God intends for marriage. Singles and married couples alike will witness the reconciliation of two broken people and how God can heal even the most damaged of relationships.

At first, Caleb is ready to give up on his wife and move on. Their relationship has deteriorated over time and he isn’t too keen on working to save it. That’s when this story really begins to unfold.

Here is a husband who doesn’t feel like he is getting respect at home and a wife who feels unappreciated and unloved by her husband. Sound familiar? It’s a simple storyline, but the plot starts to thicken as Caleb tries to recapture his wife’s heart. Through the wisdom of his father and a 40-day experiment called “The Love Dare,” Caleb begins to realize the meaning of love.

True love isn’t what’s best for me; it is seeking what’s best for you. To have a good marriage, you must first understand how to love someone and that comes from the source of unconditional love – God. That’s the point of this story.

Along his spiritual journey, Caleb also confronts his addiction to computer pornography, an issue that is often ignored in Christian culture. In fact, the storyline centers on this addiction as part of the conflict between Caleb and his wife Catherine. As is true in reality, he must avoid these images that cause him to lust if he’s going to regain her respect for him.

One small observation with the story is the lack of response to Catherine’s actions. During the separation phase of their marriage, she enjoys the affection and attention given to her by another co-worker doctor at her work who is married himself that doesn't wear a wedding ring. Her willingness to commit this emotional affair isn’t addressed in the movie unfortunately. Although some would agree that her actions were wrong, this “adultery with the eyes and emotions” should have been dealt with a lot better in the movie script.

Fireproof is a step up and the acting is really great. The story is also very good. Actor Kirk Cameron, best known for his role on the hit TV show Growing Pains, brings the character of Caleb to life on the screen. It’s a good performance and he adds really solid emotions to each scene. Kirk's humor and sincere emotion helped to make the movie memorable.

Is the video worth buying here? It's is very inspirational and has a powerful message and would really makes it worth owing to show to friends and family.
All in all, this is a great movie. This film will touch the hearts of men and women unlike the usual big box office hits from Hollywood.

I would highly recommend everyone to see Fireproof. Marrieds may learn valuable lessons from it, as all the singles out there will too. Also, kids will enjoy it and understand a little something about love and God’s part in our lives.

A MUST see for all couples~married or not

I saw Fireproof at the movies three times with three different people.(First time with my husband) I bought a copy of the dvd and after loaning it out, it disappeared. I bought a second copy and my son took it. I bought a third and it is sitting in the video cabinet, waiting for the next 'loan'. I use this movie as another 'tool' in reaching those around me who are having trouble in their marriages. I am constantly telling people that God designed marriage and if he is not the central force to that marriage, it has little or no chance of suceeding. This movie brings that point home better than I can. It's a must see for anyone who wants to enjoy their marriage the way God intended. I have also bought several copies of 'The Love Dare' which will make sense if you watch the movie.Read full review...

Acting was not the best but the "meaning" IS !!!

My husband and I just finished watching this movie. The amazing thing with that is that he ACTUALLY stayed awake and watched it from the first to the end. So to that - it does have just enough action to keep a man interested.
The "Message" is great! I say this from a Christian standpoint. One of my favorite parts was when the wife (Cat) was talking to this older woman at lunch time. At the time Cat was kind of having an innocent flirt session on and off with another doctor. The older woman says if this doctor is flirting with a married woman now, what makes you think he won't do it again. Something like that. The salt and pepper shaker point was so very good and so true. The whole thing about getting to know each other and not just stop after you get married is so important. It was so good to see a movie that is clean and have an actual moral to it.
If you dont like any kind of religious tone to a movie you are watching-you will not enjoy this one. Plus if you are looking for oscar winning acting then -this movie will not impress you in the least. Even thought this whole movie is clean and could be considered a "family" movie, most kids will not enjoy it because of the content being mainly geared to adults and mainly those who are married.
Overall, I enjoyed this movie and would recommend it.
