First Alert WX17 Weather Radio

Older technology, but still works good.

I bought this weather radio earlier this year before the winter storm arrived, and even though this is an older radio, the fact that it was still in the original packaging and was never used meant that it was going to work. The radio works well, broadcast weather reports on the WB frequency, channel 1 for the south-central US region, and even though it takes some getting used to, it does work well. Very good Product.

I got the radio because my sister would of gladly forked over $100 plus to a "friend" of hers that said it would cost about $115. I thought that was a bit much and so I turned to ebay. All she had said was a weather band radio so I put that into the search and came up with a selection of weather band radios. I got it for 16.95 plus free shipping. Can't do any better than that. A throw away.

Very noisy volume control. Had to spray DeOxit (contact cleaner) to get rid of some of the 'scratchy' noise.
The am/fm dial is miss aligned.
Wasn't worth the money.
Really a throw away.
