Sr. Bertrille Flies Again!
Back in the 60's Sally Field captured our hearts in "Gidget" and then again in "The Flying Nun." While I loved TFN while growing up, my kids had no clue what I was talking about when I commented that our dog had "Sr. Bertrille" ears! I jumped at the chance to buy this DVD of TFN's first season and it does not disappoint! The first episode is wonderful; fresh and zany Sr. Bertrille discovers she has been blessed with the amazing ability to fly! Other episodes bring back fond memories of a more innocent, simpler time. Your kids will love this DVD as it is silly and entertaining! This is a classic!Read full review...

My childhood sitcom - The Flying Nun -
I got this for my daughter who has never seen the Flying Nun. It was BEFORE HER TIME - snicker... -- really! -- Well, we both watched the first dvd together. It brought back memories for me and it was really neat for her to be able to experience it for the first time. The Flying Nun always has a good moral storyline in it and it's sweet and innocent. I haven't watched the other 3 dvd's but my daughter has and she loves the whole set. Apparently though the last dvd has an interview with Sally Field which saddened me to hear about it from my daughter - I haven't watched that dvd yet but am anxious to.Read full review...

Forget the silly premise
This show was driven by a wonderfully realized relationship at its heart -- that between the long suffering Carlos Ramirez and his beloved Sister Bertrille. The Flying Nun was one of two shows I made a habit of, so to speak, when I was a little girl. Their relationship is why. The writing in the first season is sometimes very hackneyed and predictable, the storylines are straight out of cut-and-paste 60s comedy, but the performances are wonderfully broad and resonant, with so much earnest sweetness it's impossible not to love each character. There is a lot of heart and humor in this series, which can be easily watched by the whole family. On a technical front, the DVD production quality is top flight -- the color is amazing -- the add-ons are great fun.Read full review...

Excellent Quality
I loved the series when I was a little girl. I was afraid the quality of the DVD's might be poor but I was pleasantly surprised. The Flying Nun was such an original concept about a nun who can fly because of the aerodynamics of her uniform combined with her small body weight which allows her to fly. A great family program that everyone can watch. A little on the corny side as many of the television shows were back in the late 60's but still very entertaining and humorous.Read full review...
