The King rocks in Florida

in my opinion this is one of the best musical comedies that ever sprung out of Hollywood. Filmed during the summer of 1961, it captures Elvis Presley at his peak in Hollywood. The soundtrack was recorded in Nashville with some of the best musicians and engineers of the music scene. I personally feel wonderful when I watch Elvis riding the car, singing and with a breeze in his great pompadour. The way "Follow That Dream" was meant to be seen!

The MGM release of "Follow That Dream" on DVD is widescreen but not anamorphic...meaning it is not enhanced for widescreen TVs. As a result, the picture has a black bar on all sides and must be "enlarged" to fill the TV screen...therefore diminishing the quality. This Blu-Ray release is anamorphic, fills the width of the TV screen as it should and the quality is excellent! As an Elvis film, it stands as one of Mr. Presley's best comedies. Elvis shows perfect timing as a naïve, but smart, country boy who becomes a "homesteader" on public land in Florida. Just a few songs, but all are very enjoyable. Both "Follow That Dream" and "Angel" have become classics. If you don't have a Blu-Ray Player, I suggest you make the investment... just so you can watch this film...it is worth it!Read full review...
