Just what the Dr ordered

The oil pan on the Ecoboost engine isn't metal, it is some kind of plastic or polymer. So you can't use a traditional metal oil plug.

If you change the oil when it is too cold outside, you'll likely snap off one of the ears on this plug - yes even if you are careful. So keep a spare on hand at all times.Read full review...

Works exactly as advertised. OEM direct replacement. Buy with confidence!

Ford OEM engine oil drain plug. Exact fit, and keeping one or two of these as a spare is a smart idea since they're made of plastic. I haven't broken the original (yet), but I do understand that it happens occasionally. Get some!Read full review...

Always good to have spares!

Haven’t installed it yet, but it’s exactly the same as what’s on my truck, the last oil change I should have replaced the oil plug because of a slight Seepage coming from around the O ring but I didn’t have one. I will replace it with this one on the next oil change.Read full review...

Go back to metal Ford...

If your Ford takes these plastic drain plugs, you better carry a spare or two. Sometimes the quick lube is out of them. And if used too long, they will leak. Great idea Ford...a PLASTIC drain plug.

Bought drain plug for my son. I broke the original one while we were changing oil in his truck. We will know if it is ant good next time we change the oil.

Oil plug side pins my break off

Fords better answer is the worst yet. If you break the side clips while fighting to take the plug out of the oil pan you just might break the locking side pins. I read an article that we should have 2 of them on hand, agian the side pins my break off.Read full review...
