Good Scarce Book

This is a scarce book, published about 1975, on the early lithographs of the artist, Fritz Scholder. He was a very important Native American artist, who also simultaneously is considered to be an important American contemporary painter and printmaker. (The book, "Indian, Not Indian," deals with this subject.) The book also includes very readable ad informative biographical material on Scholder's life and work up to 1975. Reproductions are of very good quality. Detailed information on individual prints is also valuable if you want to research any of the early lithographs. It is the only book that I am aware of that concentrates on this period and area of his work. I highly recommend it for anyone seriously interested in the prints of this important artist.Read full review...
