Small packable camera

This is a small digital camera that not only easy to use, but produces fine picture and video quality for the price. due to the fact that it is a discontinued model, buyer cannot get any replacement parts. I now have 2 S1500's, after figuring out how to deal with the battery chamber door not closing. Uses a zip tie!!!! Needed a small camera to pack for a trip; one that can easily fit into a backpack without the weight of a big Canon. Read full review...

Camera just does not take good pictures. Close_up shots are not clear and the colors in random shots are not crisp and true.

Just my opinion on the Fuji Fine Pix s1500 10.0 MP

I am a picture fanatic,,yet I'm no professional photographer by a long shot,,
But my old camera wasn't doing it for me anymore so I decided to try a more advance type which led me to the Fuji,,,I bought it gently used here on ebay and when it arrived i was frightened by the size and gadgets but soon found that once i started playing aruond with it,,it was as easy as my more simple model.
The indoor pics sometimes have purple lines,,due to lighting I belive so that is a downside and it does tend to eat batteries considering it takes 4 double a's but with rechargable batteries it makes it easier.
Outside pics turned out great,,and the video and audio is great. Especially close up cool pics of flowers and buildings and that type of photo,,,
Over all I am happy with the camera for the price,,,I'm sure there better cameras out there for a bigger price tag but for the ametuer who wants to slowly turn to a professional I say this is a good camera to start with!

Compared to the S700

I bought this camera as an upgrade to my S700. I knew the S700 would be hard to beat, it was nearly the perfect camera for me. I'm a mom, so taking those quick shots of my kids is essential. I also want great quality pictures (indoors especially). The S700 fit the bill.

The S1500 does offer more features than the S700, but they are features I will never use. The Face Detection must remain "off" because it SLOWS does the camera quite a bit. It takes a full 3 seconds to delete a picture from the camera, so I would suggest waiting until you upload them to your computer before going through them. This camera is definitely not as fast as the S700.

The camera itself is smaller and lighter than the S700, which I do like. You have to manually open the flash to use it, which I thought would annoy me, but it doesn't. The lens cap just places on the end of the lens, as opposed to clipping on like the S700, but I find I like this better (placing on).

The S1500 is way acceptable to me. I will be selling my S700 and exclusively using the S1500, I just wish it was a little bit faster. Overall though, it's a good megazoom for the money.

This is a great little camera!

I bought this camera a year & a half ago & I've been really pleased with it. Like the other reviews have noted, this little camera does so many things that an SLR can do. The pictures are clear & sharp, editing tools are very good & the price is so right. Mine came with an 8gb card, so I'll probably never have to buy another one. I LOVE that it has a viewfinder as well as LCD; I find that a viewfinder is a necessity for taking pics in bright sunlight. My only complaints with this camera are the time it takes after snapping the photo & the actual time it "takes". With small children around, you often only have a split second for that great shot. My other issue is the batteries. It takes 4 AA batteries & I wish it had a rechargeable battery that could just be plugged in like my previous Fugi had. I find that rechargeable AA's don't last very long, so I buy the long-lasting (8X)ones & they last pretty well. All in all, I really do like this camera.Read full review...

Review Fuji Finepix S1500

I bought this camera primarily because I have happily owned one of its predecessors - the S5000 for years and loved it. When I went to get it repaired, it became apparent that it would not take much more to get an entirely new and technologically current model. After much investigation of SLR "point and shoot" units, I found that the S1500 came loaded with all the current features at a very reasonable price. And, the purchase price only got better when I found this model listed as a "refurb".

I won't bore you with all the features because you can find them and all the specs everywhere. However, I will tell you that the S1500 has more features than most of you will ever hope to use. About the only two "negatives" that I have encountered (and worth commenting on) are the "shutter response time" (appears to have an unusually long delay from snap to capture) and the recharge/recycle time for the flash when taking multiple flash pictures in a time sensitve environment (IE, when things tend to happen quickly like a wedding reception, party or picnic). While not devastating, both have caused me a problem or two on occasion.

This said, for the money, this is a feature packed, point-and-shoot litte gem in an SLR configuration. With all its features, and 10 megapixels, and all the available editing s/w available, this camera will make you a "professional" without much effort - and - won't break your bank account in the process.

Fuji Fine pix S1500.

Likes the all the feature on this camera particularly the zoom ,easy of use the only cons on this camera is that there is no way to switch lenses if compared to others in it's category like the Kodak Z915 which users has the optional of buying wide angle and telephoto lenses . otherwise it a good camera for taking leisure pictures but not for anyone aspiring to become a professional photographer.Read full review...

Fujifilm FinePix S150010.0 Megapixel

I have never bought a camera before and decided to purchase this one. It is a great camera and I am happy with my purchase! I am still getting to know it/getting used to trying to take creative pictures, but the settings and menus are very simply set up and they are very easy to navigate. There are a large amount of options with this camera and I like that. Again, I am very happy with this camera!Read full review...

Great for beginners

I use this camera all the time at work. It takes excellent high quality close up images. I work in the electronics industry and more often than not I see more of the defects on our product with the cameras pictures than I can with the naked eye. I wanted to get one for myself so that I can take pictures of my model railroad. The images are awesome.

This camera also has a very good panoramic setting. On vacation this past weekend, I took some of the best photos I have ever taken with this.

Want to dable in some long distance reading? With the right settings I have been able to zoom on a label 34 feet away that was 3 inches wide, take a picture, and read it, the image was a little blurry but very readable. Also on my vacation I took a picture of a sign hundred of feet away the same way. Can read it perfectly fine.

This camera has a lot of settings that someone like me doesn't know how to use. The shutter speed priority, aperture priority, etc. To the right person these could mean a lot.

Neat little package, full of features & high quality pix.

This is my first digital camera, so I can't compare it to others. Found that it is nearly impossible to get 35mm film developed conveniently anymore, so old point & shoot has been retired.

This has more features than I'll probably ever use, and, as it seems with everything these days, the manual can sometimes be confusing or obscure. But so far have found it fairly easy to operate & comfortable in the hand. Also not too heavy.

The picture quality has been excellent. Uploading to the computer a cinch. Was leery of going digital, but, as an amateur, am enjoying taking pictures much more than with film.

Best toy under the Christmas tree.

FujiFilm S1500 Digital Camera- get one!

First of all, I paid less than 25 bucks for one of these, delivered. It came with a 2 gig card and a camera strap. The features are pretty darn good, and the image quality is excellent for my needs. The camera has a good heft for its small size, and I will be getting good use of it!Read full review...
