Has been a tank of a camera.

Got this model of camera Black Friday of 2007. Has been all over the country with me. Storm chasing, trips, and family events it been through a lot. At it's time the video quality was quite good. But, now HD is the way to go. So, bought a new camera for HD filming, but the still images are not as good as this camera. The camera has a lot of fine tuning for crisp images, in many situations. The only problem this camera has is burn in on the LCD from years of use. The burn in is from the focus cross hairs, and setting info but isn't a big deal. It's been dropped soaked, and survived a roll over crash in a dash mount. There are way better cameras out now, but this one still gets the job done. You find one at a good price, and HD video isn't why you need it. Give it a shot it has great picture quality. I just picked up another one at a great price as a back up.Read full review...

While only a 7.1 MP camera the S700 produces high quality photos.

This camera is an older model from around 2007. I previously owned a Fujifilm S5700 which is essentially the same as an S700. They both share the same owners manual. My S5700 was damaged during a vacation so picking up on an S700 seemed like a good idea. I own a 14MP Fujifilm camera with a 28x zoom, but I generally prefer using the 7.1 MP S700 for most photos. The camera produces very clear pictures. The S700 uses 46mm screw on lens that can be purchased for a reasonable price ($12.00 for four lens) and those lens can add to the quality of some shots. The S700 offers a view finder when the sun is very bright and you can't see the image on the 2.5 inch LCD. It makes taking photos in bright sunlight much easier. Read the owners manual to see all the features that the camera offers. Very capable camera, but only if you know what it has to offer. If not interested in reading - just put it on auto and work with the camera making all the adjustments. Just point and shoot. It's as sophisticated or easy as you want it to be. Good starter camera.Read full review...

Fujifilm FinePix s700

I like the ease of use, and the 10x zoom. I have had other finepix cameras, and they have done a good job for me. My kids have one of these, and it has performed great for them. I know it will do the same for me. The only down side to the s700 is the pop up flash. It works well, but at the same time it is in a bad position. I tend to hold that side of the camera to steady it and I tend to put a finger on the flash so it don't pop up when I do. I can train myself to grip it in a different way.
I would recommend this camera to other people

A great camera. This is the 2nd one I've owned and my 3rd Fuji!

Best camera I have ever had. That's why, when mine broke, I bought the exact same one on Ebay to replace it. EXCELLENT picture quality. It's also completely adjustable if you want to take it off of automatic settings. Very easy to transfer the pictures to your laptop or wherever you want to save them. I love this camera! The previous one I had was at least nine years old! It really held up well.Read full review...

great performance

I love this Fuji S700 camera! My daughter-in-law loves it so much she borrowed mine and kept it. So I gave it to her for her birthday. But I did have to buy another for myself.
The menus are composed in an easy to understand, logical order. For instance: An icon for possible camera shake due to low light appears BEFORE you shoot your picture allowing for adjustments. There is a camera shake selection to take care of that, or you can choose M (manual selection) and adjust shutter speed. I like to shoot without a flash, using N (natural available light). This camera produces beautiful pics with strong sharpness and color. I absolutely recommend this camera.Read full review...

Fujifilm S700 very good over all camera

The Finepix is a good starter camera for any one .It has a peep site and LCD also uses AA batteries and a SD card . All ways good to have a pep site in bright sun light incase you can't see the picture on the LCD screen . The S700 is an older model and has a 10X zoom so its some what limited for distance . I take a lot of long range photos of wild life and look for a good zoom lens plus a fast sports setting for movement . Have had two Fujifim cameras and would tell any one it's a good deal to buy one .Color is ok plus flash is ok for short distance photos .Read full review...

Fujifilm FinePix S700 - 7.1 Megapixel

I have been experimenting with this camera since I received it and I'm very happy with the results. I had a Minolta that was pretty old but still worked great for most things. I am now trying to put pics of my jewelry online and found that the S700 is far superior in terms of close-up/macro shots and the detail that can be captured. I also bought some lenses - wide angle and telephoto - but have yet to try them. The S700 is easy to use and although it did not come with the software to download onto the computer, I have found that it isn't needed and can get the pics directly from the camera as if it was a hard drive. Over all I would totally recommend this camera. It gives easy auto shots and you can manually set things if you wish. I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10.Read full review...
