SAS Drive

These drive are well built and last for a very long time in harsh conditions. These drives would last longer if put in Ideal conditions. I use these drive in my HP DL360 server in a 80F degree room. The room normally comes down to about 75F degrees at night. These drives do the job and do it well most of the time if they are about to fail you get a warning which is awesome.Read full review...

Smaller has it's advantages but for my money value is still what counts.

To afford to finance a hobby of building servers and using them as workstations, I bid on these excellent hard drives. these are double platter/disc and have proven very stable in continuous duty in servers for years. I RAID 5 these in groups of 4 to get 400Gig capacity and still have fault tolerant protection, which I've never needed, mainly because it's a Fujitsu.

But that's not the story. Here is a product suddenly having demand drop off. Knowing this, I have been able to score them at as little as 1% of their original MRRP or $3 for a $300 drive that was made just 5 years ago. Top it off the market is flooded with these, as sale after sale closes with no bidders.

I guess it must be the feeding frenzy going on in tablets.

Effective lower tier storage for small to medium sized tech departments.

With the declining price of larger storage these drives are still very effective at providing caching, logging, temp, non critical storage solutions. They perform well in RAID and still manage to provide 1.2 TB of storage in a 10 disk RAID 5.Read full review...
