Good for the used price today.

I bought this in 2010 because it was a game I always wanted to play but in high school and my first two years of college I was far too busy.

This isn't your typical shooter or military game which is why some people don't like it.

However this is an awesome, but not perfect, simulation of how real Army fireteams work in a squad, minus the squad leader since you play that role from your controller.

Since I have been in college I have joined Army ROTC and what I've learned about urban control of a squad is pretty much what you see here, delegated tasks for each soldier and fireteam and certain methods of maneuvering and flanking enemies.

The combat can sometimes be frustrating though because there is no input from soldier skill on either side. It is about choosing the right movement and action for the right situation like a jigsaw puzzle. Ammunition consideration is extremely important for the game.

Compared to the standard shooter this game teaches some real world tactics, economy of force, and conservation of resource.

I believe the BEST part of this game is the story and acting element which introduces characters who are very similar to real soldiers. In fact, the whole Army culture and way of life has been hilariously implemented into this game. There are funny racial jokes defused by uniform specs, Rangers are considered Gods to your lowly infantry squad, and the USAF are depicted as chumps who provide info but do no real fighting and glad to be in their safe seats.

I wouldn't have paid for this game six years ago, but for $5 to $10 today this game and its sequel are a great way to kill a little downtime.

Full Spectrum Warrior

It has Okay graphics, a pretty good story line and really hard controls to master. The game takes you to kashyastan in the middle east no dought.the game is RPG to 1st percent. the controls are a little diffacult to get down but they do offer a training course to teach you everything. Do not buy this game unless you like rpgs where you do not controls the aim personaly, instead you select a fire sector and the team will shoot there. IT is live enabled so you will get some good games in that. This game is 1-2 players, tho i havn't figured out how to do it yet. so, graphics 7 out of 10, story, 6 out of 10, controls, 4 out of ten, and over all rating is a 6.

Note: This game is only really good for expereneced RPGers, because i am a advanced RPGer and i still can't beat it...Good game tho.

So-so game, but good for the strategist...

Well, I like this game, yet I can't stand this game. It's good points: Got some great strategic placement moves and actions, the graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is well-coordinated. The cons: Repetitive, no first-action shooting and the audio gets mundane after awhile. All in all, I think that playing XBox live with this game is far better than playing alone; but either way you'll be able to spend a few hours just maneuvering your Alpha and Bravo around for awhile...Read full review...

I perfer 1st person view not team

I personally do not like having to controll a whole team I rather play a 1st person role like halo or call of duty. SO if you like the team play go for it but I do not. so I would say thumbes down. this game was developed for the us army to help the solider role play in the role of a sergent or staff sergent. this game is supposed to help the individual solider develope leadership skills to be able to deligate commands and ensure the protection of the team under fire.Read full review...

game version of Military Trainer

Great game. Great graphics. Realistic visuals. Game keeps a high level of tension. You need tactics and patience to get through the tough spots.
