Excellent overview of the topic
The book takes its organization from the DSM-4 which is helpful for understanding modern classification of abnormality. Each chapter covers a large umbrella area like anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. The chapters start with a clinical interview, or patient history, and then go through how each school of psychology understands the disorders etiology and treatment.
I find the writing interesting, and easy to read. I love the little side facts from pop culture and research findings included in the book, as well as the illustrative stories. Comer also puts in occasional jokes from the far side and New Yorker.
The book is an excellent companion to a course in abnormal psychological functioning. I find my self reading ahead because it is so well written and the topic is fascinating.Read full review...
Abnormal Psycholology
Never, received it and never received a notice that I would not being receiving it. I only figured it out because there was a credit on my account. I needed this text for school and by the time I figured it out - I was not going to receive it, all the used ones were gone from campus! Not to mention I was behind in my readings for my class.Read full review...

Love it. Needed it for a college course that am currently enrolled in. Will keep the book for future reference.
