This thing is plastic and super light cooler is pretty heavy duty. It works love the sound and vibrate options in addition to the shock. My dog is hard headed and it got her attention. I have had expensive collars for my hunting hound's and didn't want to go broke on one for the home. I always sound before shock train my dogs that way they learn to respond to the sound and you won't have to use the shock after a few times depending on the dog. Anyway it's a good buy . Not worth it.
The unit's shock function does NOT work so it is not very effective for my stubborn dog. The beep and beep/vibrate functions DO work. The buttons on the remote are easily activated. So leave this out of ALL pockets or it will activate. The receiver won't fully charge. No belt clip for the remote either. So you get frustrated having to cart it around all the time. Consequently you may not have it on you when you need it. As far as range I have not been able to try that out. Over all I would not recommend this unit nor will I ever buy another one. Good quality, remote isn't waterproof, buttons are touchy
I have used multiple shock collars before and this is the first one I've had that the buttons are not raised on the remote, I have to be careful not accidentally press them, also the shock is VERY strong, I can only have it on level one abd position it on th thickest party of her fur or my dog will yelp, I've never had that reaction from her before, also the remote isn't waterproof so we have to keep it in a silicone reusable bag when we go to the beach. Good, the unit does function, and is very light, the collar part does seem to be water proof so far.
Bad the range instead of 650yd it is more like 100yd. the buttons can be very easily be accidentally pressed you can not carry this unit in a jacket pocket you will activate the unit, this can cause a bad outcome with your pet.There is not a on and off switch to secure the unit to carry the unit when not in use

The collar if used correctly and when used correctly it is a humane method to ensure that your pet will have a greater chance of survival when he learns to be at his yard.
The combination of sound, vibration and the ocassional electrical stimulation provide ample ways of acchiving a responsible pet. The Pet owner can be a friend whom the pet can run to for comfort and guidance. BEAWARE if you are an idiot and make play of this tool you can create big trouble for yourself as pets are not stupid and can figure out whom is making their life miserable with the possibility of you relly finding out the real purpose of Claws and theeth.

Save your money buy a better one or just old fashion tie out
We got this because our dog likes to run as soon as we let her out. It don't work at all for her. Should have saved the money. I just had to go out and buy a tie out for when we leave her out. Total waste of money. We have used this everyday for over a week.
