Can make better espresso drinks than what you get at a cafe

You can make excellent espresso drinks with this machine - if you use a small pitcher and are willing to work with it. The steam pressure drops considerably; machine should automatically boost temp as soon as steam wand turns on. Even with a tiny pitcher (5 oz), steam dies down before I'm done almost half the time.
Excellent espresso brewing. I have a good grinder and slightly overfill the portafilter. Lots of Crema and tastes great. We are returning the bottomless portafilter because streams of water shoot through and there are splatters everywhere. Not a bit problem; the double portafilter is fine. Will be using this machine until it dies or until we've save up to get a much more expensive machine. Great value.

Gaggia Classic Pro reveiw

This machine is very basic and needs a lot of modifications to brew properly. I've changed the OPV spring to 9 bar so it will produce italian coffee at the proper pressure. With a stiff learning curve, your next machine will be easy to operate. I think this machine doesnxt produce enough power to make frothed milk correctly. But, I am enjoying learning about it.Read full review...

Great espresso maker

The Gaggia Classic Pro is very simple to use for manual users. It takes some learning in temperature ranges and pressure control. By using a lcd thermometer and replacing the 15bar spring with 9bar you are good to go for a decent cup of coffee. With good beans of course you can't go wrong with the Gaggia.Read full review...

Excellent full manual home espresso machine

I have only been using this machine for a few weeks and already very much appreciate how sturdy and well designed this machine is. The espresso results are entirely based on my technique and I have no complaints about the machine! Based on recommendations from YouTube experts I am using a separate tamper and a different portafilter. I do not count these changes against the machine and suggest other owners customize their machine to their liking as well. Read full review...

the cheapest real espresso machine available.

Bought my Gaggia Classic as a refurb from WholeLatteLove and I could'nt be happier. The Gaggia Classic Pro is the cheapest way to get into a proper espresso machine I've just finished three Americanos for my family and we're all enjoying next levels of caffination. The machine arrived packaged OK but once fired up it has worked perfectly. The only mods I've done is swapped out the standard pressure relief spring for a 9lb spring and an 18g portafilter basket. If you want to know why watch the James Hoffman video on getting into a cheap espresso machine. I recommend a Eureka Mignon Knotte grinder to go with it. Read full review...

Makes good espresso but has learning curve. Steam wand leaks

This machine makes good espresso and froths milk well enough for latte art once you develop the skills and learn the workarounds. So there is a learning curve. One caveat, the steam wand drips and spurts water more than any other machine I've owned. It's a common problem with the Gaggia Classic and the steam valve is prone to failing. If that happens you'll be stuck replacing it yourself or spending a ton of money shipping it back for repair. Also, the first machine I purchased had a bad connection which blew out within days. Obviously quality control is lacking but then that's true of too many products these days as corporations cut corners to make more profit. Still, it's a solid machine and not a throwaway if it breaks down as it seems pretty easy to DIY if you have the skills and patience. There are lots of online forums and how-to videos and parts are easy to find.Read full review...

Good machine, but terrible instructions.

It does the job, providing a nice shot of espresso. However, the instructions are very confusing, especially with regard to cleaning. They send you 3 different cups to hold the grounds, but don't send you the one you need to clean it, which you have to order separately. Also, they sell you this liquid cleaner, which you find out later is only to clean one part. You need to order the powder cleaner separately too, in addition to the liquid. The machine, itself, is sold and does a good job.Read full review...

I love my Gaggia Classic Pro <3

The machine works perfectly and makes an awesome espresso. The only consideration, the machine came without any protection inside the box so it can get scratches, bumps, etc... For the price, even if it is refurbished, it should come with at least some protection.Read full review...

I’m very happy with my purchase of the Gaggia Classic Pro.

You want a nice, simple yes/no answer to the question “is it easy to use?” Well, no, it’s not the easiest to use espresso machine. In fact, it’s the most difficult of the three I have purchased. But that is exactly the reason I bought it! Not because I want to struggle, but because I wanted control for a change.

The Gaggia Classic Pro just gets better and better every single morning as I finally discover how a great espresso is actually made. No other machine ever gave me this opportunity. I did not have the tool I needed previously, and that was just tough luck. Automatic everything holds no appeal for me in any endeavor. I don’t think I’m alone in that either.

I look forward to every morning’s chance to make an even better espresso.
