Garmin eTrex 20 Handheld

Simple, yet full of features.

I bought this to use special maps that show private ownership around public lands and it works perfect. I also have a 20x, but because the 20 has a "less crisp" resolution, it loads the very data heavy maps at least a full 2 seconds faster. The resolution does not affect ability to read the GPS though. It is definitely small- I'm a small frame human and this device fits my hand perfectly. The screen is tiny, but only slightly smaller than the only other non-touch Garmin on the market, and at a much cheaper price. getting started

The instruction manual is not clear to me on what buttons to push and in what sequence in trying to get into the set up mode and so on , i can't really comment honestly about it's use because i have not made it past step one. trying to set what language i want has been fruitless because when i highlight English i can't seem to be able to save or enter it because the manual doesn't tell me how to, the same with selecting the set up mode. i also tried to select what satellite system i want i can't seem to be able to save my selection . the rest of this review will have to wait until after i finally get to use it for an accurate review on its function and accuracy and reliability. i have a Garmin hand held unit for marine navigation and that unit was much easier for me to navigate through the set up and function selections, once i find someone to show me how tp set the E Trex up and use it i would be more than happy to continue this review in fullRead full review

Small and light , works like it should. Just add a 32gb micro card add all the free maps that are available and your ready to go.

Great entry level GPS

Excellent entry level GPS. Fairly easy to use. Would have preferred that it had an active compass, but not really much of a problem.

etrex20 is still the best value for hunting GPS. I only gave it 4 stars because there is no Linux software from Garmin and it forces me to use Windows to load maps

Nice GPS

This is a nice compact handheld GPS unit. You will need to load map software either by chip or software download to fully leverage its capabilities. It is also very efficient with batteries.
