Perfect for large metro area

I live in the Atlanta suburbs where everything in 20-30 miles away. If I want to find a store in another area of town it's very simple to do. I immediately changed the voice from female to male. My son, who is now in Eastern Europe, was checking all of the languages at Christmas. I absolutely detest the Aussie and British accents where DR (drive) is called doctor. Yes, you have a choice of languages and maps of countries to download. I haven't tried the MP3 player yet as I have no idea how to use it. My husband will program all my favorites into it someday. My first experience was traveling with my husband (with his lesser GPS, which he has used for two years) before the holidays up the East Coast. It was wonderful and I just had to have my own. It's like computers and cell phones, how on earth did we live without them? Where is the nearest Krispy Kreme? So easy to use even a woman can do it. You always know where you are. Don't leave home without it! I checked prices at many stores, club stores, online and, of course, ebay was the best and I got a great deal through my seller on ebay. Received in three days. If my car breaks down I can use my cell phone to tell someone exactly where I am looking at my Garmin nuvi 750 Car GPS Receiver. It makes me feel safe. Oh, and it stores favorite locations, recent locations and has many more features that I haven't used yet. I love it.Read full review...

Garmin Nuvi 750 - a step up

Purchased for business, this replaced a two year old Garmin 250W. I hoped for and expected a unit with more options and greater routing options and destination accuracy. The 750 is batting .500. Its additional features are welcome, with some exceptions. Why, for example would someone want to put their pictures on a GPS unit? And an FM tuner? Thought that's why I had a radio in my car.

I haven't yet personally experienced greater accuracy as it has already lead me out into the boondocks and left me in the middle of no where - on a street that is not even close to my destination (same county though) Ditto on the detour option - not much better than the 250W.

I don't mean to make this sound like a bad buy - it is not. I am pleased but not totally satisfied.

Maybe my expectations are just too high.

garmin nuvi 750 rocks

needed another gps with mp3 player, this one will play music off the sd card threw the radio just by a frequency, without wires and navigate with the mp3 playing, no wires don't need to bring the ipod when I have this with me. Only down fall no manual to explain how to use alot of the features that this can do.But this thing is great can't beat the price, and would buy the same model again. I also use this for my motorcycle, but have noticed that the sun blinds the screen more so than the garmin street pilot c550 model that I have. But there must be a way around that. Ive had the item for only two weeks.Read full review...

GPS Reciever with FM trasnmitter

Item works well right out of the box. Has a bit of a learning curve. Seriously need to stop or have passenger make any major searches or adjustment as the opening screen states. Window or dashboard suction system is fairly reliable but I will buy a friction system to prevent unplanned dashboard departures. In large metro areas where radio stations are close packed the FM transmitter will probably be useless. Here in the mid-west it works well outside of most major cities. Just what I wanted to be able to play music and get directions in any vehicle I am driving. Doesn't always choose the "Best" route but it does get you there and has gotten me back to my "path" when I have gone on back-road adventures. Maps seem to be very complete... I'll know more after this weekend. Well made solid product. Well worth the investment.Read full review...

My very first purchase on ebay a Garmin Nuvi 750

I have been in much need of some sort of navigation device...I wanted something simple to use and affordable. The Garmin is an affordable and notable navigation system I have not had too much of an opportunity to use it on anything more than around town to test it out....the directions are right on point si far. I will need to purchase a memory card for my Garmin to get its full use out of it...so far the Garmin website has been helpful and is easy to use.Read full review...

Purchasing the Garmin Nuvi 750

I absolutley love the compactness and portablity of this widescreen electronic device. I literally plan more trips now because of bthe ease and fun of using this product! I have tried outsmarting this device to no avail!!! I cannot recommend this purchase with any greater intensity! I have to honestly state I find no problems or dislikes with this device. I have friends who complain about their GPS's and I never have anything to contribute to their conversations. My Wife has only been here a couple years and had done much traveling anyway. This puts her motre at ease to do things on her own out of her "comfort zone". She feels much safer on the road. It has been a pleasure to write this review.Read full review...

Solid GPS unit

GPS units have become a commidity. You can pick up a cheap new one without the Garmen name for under 90 bucks. That said, Garmin has a map update site, so if you find an older unit like the 750 I just picked up, you can update the maps for $50. So when buying older Garmen models, you may want to factor in the cost of an update. Garman provides free operating system updates so even an older model can be functioning like most new ones. I like the screen size of this model and even if it has a few scuffs, It works very well. It's not trying to win the GPS beauty pagent. With the system update, this model performs well. I feel like I have as much value in it as I would have in an off brand new model.Read full review...

It does the job, and that's all I ask.

The Garmin NUVI 750 GPS is an older generation version of the NUVI 760/765, lacking only BlueTooth capability (which I neither need nor want). Mine is a factory-refurbished unit. I was looking for a reasonably priced, reliable alternative to the GPS capabilty available on my cell phone. This is it. I find it to be extremely accurate and reliable and a godsend when trying to navigate my way to unfamiliar places. It frequently knows routes to places I've traveled to many times which are shorter than my normal routes. The display is large, clear and bright, even in bright daylight conditions. It seems to insist on giving you the shortest route by default, unless you tell it to do otherwise, occasionally making turns onto winding connector roads that I would normally avoid. A few minor gripes: after a long stretch of non-use, it takes several minutes (and miles) to reacquire the satellites. This can be very inconvenient if you are starting off from an unfamiliar place. It also sometimes misses turns (i.e. no voice prompt) that appear to it to be continuations of the same road. I've also found that it is not 100% accurate as to exact physical locations. For instance, it says my house is located a good quarter mile from where it actually is, and recently wanted to send me over a mile up the street from an actual hospital entrance. I attribute this to the mapping software being used, which, if it is anything like Mapquest or Google, can be very inaccurate at times. All-in-all, a great purchase and I'd do it again.Read full review...
