Excellent! Old school at it's best

I have had this game 3 times in my life! I always go back to it for one of my great memories of my childhood. It's an awesome first person rpg. It's easy AND challenging at the same time. You won't be bored. It combines first person campaigns followed by each levels final challeng with an major enemy to move ahead. For fans of original Xbox games I give it 5 Stars out of 5. Entertaining and mindless hack-n-slash

Provided many hours of entertainment thru traversing clever levels, building up characters (RPG elements), obtaining access to new realms/levels, and finding secret doors/keys. The graphics aren't stellar, and character classes are not differentiated well, but this title will be a keeper for its instant action, simplicity and ability to entertain my family.

If you want graphics, or expect an RPG you may be disappointed. If you want to shoot and kill 100s of mobs than this may work for you.Read full review...

Fun with friends, but......boring and tedious alone!

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is still a fun game to play with friends. Multi person game play has always been a strength of the Gauntlet Series and is encredibly fun teaming up with friends to conquer the various levels and finding potions and treasures. The fun of playing with friends keeps you from noticing all the flaws. So, if you have friends that enjoy this type of game, I would highly recomend it to you.

If you are getting this game for nostalgia or as a way to pass some gameplaying time of your own.........Don't waste your money!

This game has not changed much since I remember playing it in the arcade of my local pizzeria as a teen. I wasn't impressed with the graphics at all, I really expected something more from the famous Gauntlet Series. In fact the graphics on this Game have barely advanced since the 1980's. I was also annoyed with the awkward angular controls of the game and the repetitive simplicity of the attack play.

Characters and Levels are mediocre at best. It feels that a lot of the graphics and enemies are just "cut and paste" from level to level. It feels like they just changed to color and layout of the levels, the quantity and speed of enemies, and moved around the treasures.

A most excellent game!!! A MUST BUY!!! This has got to be one of the very best XBOX games ever! Highly addictive. Great drinking game. Awesome that it is a 4 player co-op. I love that there are so many character to choose from. The only thing I would change is the fact that you can not level up indefinately. It is relatively simple. Even my 6 year old plays and we do not get too upset when he falls a little behind. He can always play by himself for a little while and catch up with us.
