Thank you Enid Coleslaw
Originally from Daniel Clowes zine, Eight ball. The story Ghost World is about the often pessimistic and rebellious Enid Coleslaw and her best friend Rebecca. Coping with family struggles, sexual fantasies, and their friendship growing apart are only a few things that these two encounter together. Diners, Satanists, high school acquaintances, cute boys, adult stores, the personals, creepy ex-con artists... This book really explores a lot of things your "average" post high school student deals with. The language and personality he uses for his characters are definitely for today’s youth and for many future generations.
The illustrations are done in a nice light blue, black, and white. Daniel Clowes has a distinct drawing style that will keep you laughing at the odd facial expressions he uses in each panel.
If you have seen the 2001 move directed by Terry Zwigoff, I recommend you read the book as well since the movie leaves out much of the original story.
One of the best graphic novels I have ever read.Read full review...
