Sniper Anyone?

Like most people I know, how could you stand playing the original Grand Theft Autos on the first Playstation? I know I couldn't...maybe the ariel view made me sick. One of the biggest anticipations for games to be released in 2001, Grand Theft Auto III is the V8 balls to the walls for action/driving games. This sniper rifle toting, people shooting, car smashing, hooker struting, mafia genre will have you playing for hours on end. Probably without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time.

Oh that's right the game also has missions which is the key summary of GTAIII. Okay so if you get bored of just smashing into cars, snipering peoples heads off, or riding around in an Army tank, you can play the many missions that are just as fun, exciting and sometimes funny. What's also great is they have an A-list cast doing the voice overs for the characters. So get out there, steal that police cruiser, buckle up and avoid the FBI at all costs.

Great great and no defects :)

This was one of my favorite games from my childhood and teenage years. Now that can finally buy my own DVD and it's brand new for a cheap price so why not buy it . I've never beaten the game but I like to fool around in it though. It runs smoothly and it comes as its stated brand new and sealed with that new smell just the way I like it . :) I kept playing this game for hours knowing how much fun it is! This was actually a gift from my older brother for my birthday. Overall I am very happy with this product. Thank you for your honesty for being brand new and the pictures you upload. :)Read full review...

.....

I chose dots as the title to this review, because, I'm not sure if I'm the only one who noticed this or not, but the guy NEVER SAYS ONE DAMN WORD!
I realized that one day and it had me cracking up for half an hour.
granted, I'm still on the mission where you have to rescue that lady from the cartel... which I've been at for months now =

anywho, wheeeere to begin... this game is too sweet for it's own good.

you play as this guy. I don't know his name, age, nationality, what he likes on his burgers, or anything. all I know is his girlfriend was a b****.
it starts out you're pulling a bank job. you, your then-girlfriend and some other dude are running out the back of the bank. they're ahead of you when you hear a gunshot. you round the corner to a gun in your face, as you see your accomplice lying on the ground, dead. "sorry honey, but you're just small time" your girlfriend says before she shoots you (must not have been in the face cuz you survived)
you're tried, and on the way to jail someone blows up the bridge, freeing you and all the other inmates. you and your new friend 8-ball grab a car and head for your base (of the moment, which is a run-down hole-in-the-wall room downtown). from then on, it's just nuts. you get drawn into a mafioso maelstrom, as you remain taciturn.

the controls are precise, and tight. learning curve of about half an hour.
the music is great, as you have a full range of music on your car stereo.
the gameplay is so addictive, you can spend hours just running around, entering the cheat codes and blowing stuff up and beating up on random passers-by. I used to see how many helicopters I could take out before being overwhelmed. for those times when you just wanna shoot s*** up, I'd recommend the monorail system tracks. you're virtually untouchable up there.

anywho, the story keeps you drawn in. you feel the betrayals, and the revenge.
you feel the satisfaction of a job well done, and the shame of a job totally down the sh**er "DAMMIT! I ONLY HAD TO TAKE OUT ONE MORE SNIPER!!!" etc etc

if you like your games violent, mafia-esque, and addictive, then this will suit you well.

I can't actually fathom anyone owning a PS2 and not owning this game.
this was the first game I bought for it. and the only one I needed for over a month, even without a memory card.

My Reveiw of Grand Theft Auto III

I remember playing this game when it first came out. It's very enjoyable to me. You always hear about the negative sides of the game. Yes, you kill people, you can have sex with prostitutes, and there's plenty of drug use and bad language. But the game is intended for MATURE audiences only, and those should be the only people playing it. There's plenty of other side quests to do that aren't violent, like collecting 100 hidden packages, playing a paramedic and getting hurt people to the hospital, and acting as a vigilante, you chase down criminals. If you're buying this for someone, make sure you know what you're buying. There's plenty to do before you can complete the game, high replay value, so I highly recommend it for anyone 18 years or older only. Clearly not a game for children, so don't complain if you get it for a child and you don't think it's appropriate.Read full review...

A good beginner game for PS2

This game was a good beginner game to GTAs series of games to come, because it showed basically how the others would be like. If you like driving and running over people with a car while doing missions and earning money; this is one of 3 games for you. The other 2 are of course the other 2 GTA's and 3 if you have a PSP also, unless they realease GTA Liberty City out on PS2 also. This game taught you the basics of the upcoming GTA's. to drive, dodge cops, and also how to earn losts of money without doing much work at all. In the others you will also learn other things that help earning money and getting away from cops easier and faster, but until you get to that point this game is for you.Read full review...

As expected

I bought this because my 12 year old wanted it. I don't play these games and I wouldn't let him play it when younger. He has a lot of games and has the wii at his moms but he just can't get enough of this game. He talks about how huge an area it is played in and he constantly learns new ways to take cars with him to other places or how to avoid losses. Dad, Dad! Come look at this!! He got cheat codes of the web and he just passes time driving around wasting people (when I let him) so its all cool right?? He says he doesn't kill the hookers on purpose so he's still a good kid. I REALLY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY SO WE CAN BOND IN WAYS OTHER THAN SPORTS AND BOY SCOUTS AND HUNTING. What man doesn't want to go smash cars and waste people with his little boy eh? Just don't tell your mother!Read full review...

Grand Theft Auto III (Playstation 2)

I love this game. Many other people don’t. If you like a game that is on the edge. A game that breaks the rules. Than this is the game for you. However, if you don’t like games where you kill cops, blow people up, wreck cars, and kick people around DONT BUY THIS GAME. If you like doing those things in a video you might really like this game. Not to mention it has a great story line and is one of the most sold games ever.Read full review...

The start of a revolution, and evolution of videogames.

This game truly started a revolution. I created the open world adventure genre that still has clones made from it every year. Saints Row, True Crime, Crackdown, Prototype, Infamous; there are too many to count. They all owe it to GTA3.
Incredible game that shouldnt be missed.
