Neil Young perfectly restored on one great Album

Neil Young's Greatest Hits is a splendid compilation of Neil Young's music which spans decades, genres and sounds. From Down by The River to Old Man (my favorite) and Harvest Moon - this greatest hits album does a nice job paying tribute to all of Neil's best songs and all of his styles... The music sounds superb as the tracks are restored and remastered. If you are only going to own one Neil Young album - this should be it. If you own several Neil Young albums - and you should... hes a true pioneer and songwriter - this is a must add!

review Neil Young greatest hits

Neil Young is great as everyone knows. He has been around for over 40 years because the music he makes is good. Good hard rock and roll. Most of his best stuff is on the disc and its worth it to buy if your into his kind of music. Its a quick way to get familiar with his music if you dont know much about him too. The one complaint that I have about Neil Young is that he is lyrically minimalist. He does not have a lot to say in terms of his lyrics. Its mostly his guitar that does most of the talking. When he does say something its usually meaningful but he does not do enough of it. The best example for me is on the song "Ohio." There is a piece in the middle of the song where instead of having lyrics written he just goes La la la la la la la. Im listening to it and Im thinking there should be lyrics there. It's a meaningful song too but its just la la la... in the middle and then the first lyrics from the beginning of the song repeat again. He is too lryically sparse sometimes.Read full review...

Awesome collection of Neil Young's best work

I can't imagine a better collection of Neil Young's music on a single cd. I was a teen age'r when this music was popular, Listening to this music really takes me back to a special time in my life. I couldn't afford to purchase many records, 8 tracks or cassettes (yeah I'm old) when I was a teenager. on my own back in the day. But now I can. I am retired now and have time to listen and enjoy. Neil Young really touched a generation with his words and music.

Neil Young's Greatest Hits is just what it says it is. I love it.

I bought this to support Neil Young and his statement against the misinformation being spread on Spotify, but I'd forgotten how great these songs were. I am so glad that I bought this to be able to listen to these wonderful classic rock songs by Neil. It reminds me of the difficult times that both Neil and I came up in, the protests, the Vietnam war, the Civil rights movement, and the progress we made as a society during those tumultuous years. Simply Excellent - A Must Have for all Neil Young Fans!

Neil Young's Greatest Hits contains sixteen of his best songs. The collection spans from his Down by the River which was released on 01/17/69 to Harvest Moon which was released on 09/22/91. The majority of the tracks are from the 70's, when he released much of his best work. Basically every song is excellent and there's not a bad track on the cd. Hey Hey My My (Into the Black) is a particularly great version. After listening to the cd several times, I just wish there was more.

Overall, this is a great cd with music starting in Neil Young's Crazy Horse days continuing all the way into the 90's. Every song is a classic so if you enjoy listening to Neil Young this cd is for you.Read full review...

GREATEST HITS! YEP!

Neil Young is still rocking after all these years. Was great with Crosby,Stills, Nash and Young, and just kept snowballing when he went solo. His voice has a haunting quality, one you can't get enough of. Still remember the KENT STATE killings, and wearing the black armbands in mourning. It is still as fresh as the day it happened. Kids listening now to the cut OHIO, may not understand the importance of the lyrics, but it hits home with us old hippies. One of my all time favorites by him!Read full review...
