Pricey? all a point a view
Ive seen a lot of reviews saying this is way too pricey for what you get, and its true that map wise, you get quite a bit less than the original game. But this expansion for a most will hold hundreds of hours of game play, and the fact that there is no subscription fees = good value..
On the other hand, I have been a gw fan since the beginning, and paid full price for all of the first game and expansions, and GW2 and expansion. I do feel like its was a slap in the face to the hardcore fans to not give us a slot with the expansion.. (although most of us had enough in game gold to buy the slot without spending real money, Anet is very focused on expanding their user base.. (giving away the gw2 for free with the purchase of the expansion is an awesome deal for newcomers) but in the course of doing this, they have made me feel a bit slighted... (wheres my thanks) all I wanted was another character slot with the expansion.. Great MMORPG!
I absolutely love Guild Wars 2 (& the developer ArenaNet). They just love their fans because you don't need to own the GW2 original to buy this expansion, the core GW2 game is included with this. Also there's no monthly fees. There's still a ton of players online, despite the game coming out in 2012. Gigantic world, great combat and graphics, just an all around fantastic game. With so much to do in the game it can easily seem overwhelming to some new players who are used to theme-park hand-holding titles out there.
