Solid representation of Aerosmith emphasising their early music and fame.

Regardless of what the younger people think, Aerosmith was a huge success in the 70s with songs like Combination, No More No More, and Back In The Saddle. The fact that they then reinvented themselves in the 80s and 90s to become as significant a band as they were decades before is proof they are worthy of respect for the full spectrum of their work. That is why I bought this game and I challenge anyone who says the songs are "too easy" and they played it through on expert without problems. The difficulty of these songs and Joe Perry's guitar brilliance makes this a great buy. I agree that the reduced price is worth the wait but I feel that way about all games. I never buy during the craze faze of $50 prices. I have enjoyed working through these songs and even found a new appreciation for the ones I liked less than others (Draw The Line, No Suprize) with the background info in the interviews. I personally would have liked to see additional interview segements as the difficulty increases. I rate this as one of the best of the Guitar Hero series because I have been a fan since 1975. I agree there could have been more songs from "Pump", Nine Lives, etc., but greats like NO More No More are missing as well. Had they been included, this would be a solid 5/5 in my book. It gets a strong recommendation from me.Read full review...

guitar hero 3 - new cover

dont get me wrong, this game is fantastic. If you are an aerosmith fan (even just a tiny bit) you will love this game. Im not thrilled with the other bands and tracks on the game but thats ok. In a round about way though, this game is exactly like guitar hero 3 with a new face. the subtleties are phenomenal, including Joe perrys use of a talk box on sweet emotion (you can see the plastic tube coming from the characters mouth). The games overall difficulty seems to stretch a little more than the previous installment which is great for beginners to the game. so yes, the game is totally worth every penny.

As for the hardware, i didn't purchase the "aerosmith" les paul but im assuming it is the same as what came with GH3. great axe, but i did have to make some modifications. After awhile the sensitivity doesnt work and my yellow button wouldnt work. i had to open up the neck and move some stuff around (you can find fixes on youtube.com and other places) after that the guitar has worked perfectly. Compared to the rockband original, i love the strum bar. much tighter.

Check out the game. The only reason i didnt give it an excellent is because i didnt feel it did enough to change from GH3. There are some excellent segways showing the guys in the band and interviewing them which is awesome, and the venues are decent (nipmuck high is cool, after that it gets a little more average). but check it out, enjoy it, rock hard.

Fun new take on GH3

Good Graphic likenesses for Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and DMC (Darryl McDaniel from Run-DMC). The song list has a lot of deep album cuts. This can be a pro or a con depending on how much of an Aerosmith buff you are. This game seems to have stayed away from many of the groups slower ballads like Cryin and Jaded and gone for mostly up tempo songs. Both versions of Walk this Way (Original and Run-DMC remake) are playable. This game lives and dies on how much Aerosmith you like. I am a only a casual fan and still enjoyed playing. The game is a little easier the GH 3, but only a little. Expect to practice before playing hard and expert with 5 stars. The bundled guitar is a wireless Les Paul with a new faceplate. Probably not necessary for many players, but I needed another guitar and the Les Paul is the best.

I give it 4/5 stars overall. No new features of modes, just more songs. If you like GH3 and Aerosmith, you will like this one.

Twist to standard Guitar Hero Playing is nice addition.

OK, so the songs are not the best collection of Guitar Hero songs but the added content of seeing interviews with the band during game playing and getting to play the venues they played while becoming the band they are today is fun. Also playing as them is cool however I think I will enjoy playing as Metallica or even Van Halen would be more fun this Aerosmith. HOPEFULLY some day some of my classical favorite bands become available like lets say Led Zepplin or AC/DC or even some Lynard Skynard! Now were talking here. But if you are a fan of Aerosmith and a fan of Guitar Hero then you need to buy this game right now!!Read full review...

Good Guitar Hero game with some dissappointments

I have played most of the Guitar hero games for Xbox 360 and wanted this one because I like a lot of Aerosmith songs. The disappointing part is that all of the songs are not Aerosmith songs, only some of the other artists songs are any good, and the Aerosmith songs don't include some of their better material. The really great parts are the interviews with the band and the characterizations of the Aerosmith band members are fantastic. The designers should have included more popular Areosmith tunes, more of them, and if they needed to have warmup acts then they should have been better bands and songs as well. All in all not a bad game and is very enjoyable.Read full review...

Guitar hero Aerosmith - XBOX 360

The latest installment of the famous Guitar Hero sage is here. This game has many good albeit older songs that follow the group Aerosmith. There are 31 main stream songs that are available in the regular gameplay on all levels and 12 more I think it was that you can purchase with your winnings from the game in the songs vault.
Gameplay is just like Guitar hero 3, and is made to include the charecters from the Aerosmith band and all their outlandish styles. Steven Tyler is just as ugly in the game as he is in person, and Joe Perry is just as hard a rocker as he ever has been.
If you are looking for a way to kill a night this game is the way to go.
Beforwarned....Lots and lots on HOPO notes in the songs. These are Hammer ons and pull offs. If you are not good at these you might wanna watch out.
All in all a great game. Just shorter then the others in the series.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith (Xbox 360)

Graphics 8.0
Graphics I have to say are getting better. They are still not at the level where It can be a great game. The drummer needs some help with graphics and has needed it since the start and isn't recieving any. Guitar graphics are better now than ever before. The rest of the band besides the drummer is in good enough shape to call this game good. Venues need lots of help. Guitar Hero 2 beat the venue graphics in this game. The Half-Time Show at the "Big
Game" was just plain horrible.

Song Selection 6.8
Where are all of Aerosmith's good tracks? Where is Deuces Are Wild, Dude Looks Like a Lady or Janie's Got a Gun? Those are the tracks that made them famous and they included Uncle Salty and all the other tracks everybody ignored. The other thing that made me dissapointed was lack of great bands. Put soem Guns N' Roses and Styx not this other crap. Add some more songs I beat it on Expert in a matter of 50 minutes. If this was expected to get peoples minds off of Rock Band it failed misseralbly. This is definetly a low for the Guitar Hero Franchise.

Overall 7.3
Dissapointing. Thats the word that desribes this game. I hope for more from Guitar Hero World Tour.

Guitar Hero: Kinda Aerosmith

I had high anticipations of another Guitar Hero game. I scored it for only 10 bucks here on ebay sealed. I didn't realize however what to expect. I saw another guitar hero game to play and get achievements on my 360 and I was sold.

What did I come to get? The majority of the songs aren't even Aerosmith. the one's that are Aerosmith are some old school one's that today's generation either wouldn't know or not appreciate. I'm not a hardcore Aerosmith fan but I have my favorites and only 1 of them made it. Walk This Way. Where's Crazy? Where's Crying? The list goes on, but this game is jam packed full of songs and covers of songs that just kinda wastes time.

I was hoping for all Aerosmith or even the top 10 hits of Aerosmith if they were going to cram in extra songs. The only saving grace is the fact that I bought in on my xbox360 and I got a few achievement points out of it. As a person who doesn't go with downloadable content songs, an extra disc full of songs is also good.

If I were to suggest it, I'd go with the 360 for the achievements and I wouldn't pay more then 10 bucks brand new. I got a deal. If I bought a used copy for 10 bucks, I'd be bummed.

Aerosmit: Classice Rock!

This game has more rewards then most of the other guitar heros, if you're a fan of classic rock then you would like this game. It has old Aerosmith and new Aerosmith alont with various other artists. I found it easier, but it's more rescricted on unlocking the songs. For every 2 songs is when you get a few more. There is less room to choose what song you play as in other guitars heros but it is very cut and dry: it's self explanitory. It takes you to where you need to go next in the game instead of picking 1 out of 5 or 6 songs. It's a good game, but I like the Metallica guitar hero more.Read full review...
