Great gameplay and song selection

Over all this game has great songs and good gameplay just like most other Guitar Hero games. I think the graphics are pretty bad but it is a PS2 game and this was before the better developers purchased the series rights. For a rhythym game the only important things are the song list and the actual gameplay so I would give it a 5/5 using those metrics.Read full review...

Disc problem

I'm able to play a big majority of the songs, but not all of them. The game starts to glitch after a while and then I'll have to restart the system and try to go back to where I left off and it messes up again in the same section. None of the other Guitar Hero games that I've purchased on this website have done this.Read full review...

GUITAR HERO WORLD TOUR

I like the ability to sound like a rock star musician. You're able to progress from easy to difficult at your own pace. I love the fact that you can play this with your kids. This is really quality time with my daughter. I dislike that not too many songs are on CD's, but that may just be me. I'm not sure how to download extra songs. I decided to buy it because it was one of those things that wanted, but was out of my budget. But, I found a great deal and couldn't pass it up on ebay. It's just an awesome game that is easy to learn and have tons of fun with.Read full review...

Guitar Hero World Tour game

I am a fan of Guitar hero. Being that i am in a family that has musical talent, i figure that Guitar Hero would an ideal game that the entire family can play together. Everyone sings and play different instruments, except the drums. Listening and playing Guitar Hero World Tour gives the adults a sense of nostalgia, while the young ones get an opportunity to listen to what we used to listen to. The entire family plays for many hours from Quickplay to Career mode. The kids really kick out of creating their own rocker. The only disappointment about the game is that it takes to long to load the songs.Read full review...

Excellent Game

The game is awesome my family is having so much fun with the game that now it became part of “our family spending time together routine”. I’ve invited all my friend and they got so hooked up on the game that now they’re thinking of buying their own and that is good that is the only way that I can get rid of them if they get their own system. Don’t give me wrong I like them a lot but sometimes they are little bit to annoying. In addition, the game has a lot of potential to become one of the greatest games to play with the family years from now it has a potential to beat up “Monopoly”.Read full review...

cheaper than buying a 360 or ps3 but a little slower

I ordered this product cause i cant afford a new 360 or ps3 and i was impressed that they would even make this for the ps2. i like the game and it has plenty of song selection but it does seem to be a little slower in the menus than a 360 or ps3 would be but none the less works fine. the drums are a little hard to get used to if youve been playing rock band and sometimes will miss a hit when your playing but im sure there are remedies for that. the guitar is very responsive and should work with other ps2 guitar hero games so its multi purpose. havent really used the mic yet cause i dont sing but it is well made and has an extra long cord so you can sit or stand pretty much anywhere in the room which is good if your playing in small spaces. the titles kind of misleading cause it says complete band game. some would notice that it only comes with one guitar while the game supports two guitars but it clearly states on the packaging that you only get one so i guess its not false advertising. on the plus side of this you get to choose your second guitar instead of having to settle for what the game comes with, but you also have to buy the second one which is a bummer. its a good family or multiplayer game so if you have friends or family that has an interest in music its perfect. another good thing about the game is it has a music studio option which allows you to make your own songs. again i havent used this much except for laying down my own drum tracks but it is a cheaper alternative than buying a new set of electronic drums just to practice on. im not a guitarist so i dont understand any of options for making your own guitar tracks but it seems to be very detailed and accurate. in my opinion that seems to be for the more knowledgeable guitar players that know what theyre doing so that excludes me. the bottom line: if you want guitar hero world tour but dont have a 360 or ps3 and cant afford to buy a new one then this is for you. the menus are slightly slower but it has good song selection and is a great addition to your ps2 game collection. if you can find a decent used copy of this game with all the instruments then buy it. i got mine for about 80 bucks plus 8 dollars shipping on ebay so happy hunting and good luck.Read full review...

WorldTour game is A1! Support slow but did replace free

Having a great time playing this game. Had a problem with the drums and found activation support replaced them for free after working with me to try to adjust them. Love the game itself and the fact that the kit is expandable with new games and songs available and coming out faster then I can afford to purchase them.
Next I will get the Metallica game to jam to lots of old favorites. This game is user friendly even for my 7 yr old who loves the drums and singing. Would recommend for any talentless musician wannabes like myself. Not the real thing but as close as I'll ever get.

Like many of the Guitar Hero games.....

Like all of the guitar hero games, there are many tracks that are unrecognizable to different generations. But there are tracks for all the generations who customarily enjoy these games. Personally, Guitar Here II is the best of all the games (mostly because i don't like the "battling" in Guitar Hero III). But this one has more songs, and the ability to incorporate drums and singing into the mix is definitely awesome!!! I only use it for guitar, but have friends who have the whole band setup and it's definitely a favorite at parties of all kinds.Read full review...

Pales in comparison to Rock Band. Would get RB first!

GHWT does have fun new songs and cool venues to play at, but compared to Rock Band, it isn't worth the hassle.
Although you can use RB equipment with it, the activating star power on the drums is difficult, there aren't touch sensors on the guitar which are required during the songs, and the RB microphone isn't as sensitive as GHWT needs it to be.
Some of the songs are great and fun, but there are a lot of really obscure songs. Mostly, the songs are really really long. They stop being fun, because they're either entirely too hard or too repetitive--either way, you end up hoping the song ends soon.
The singing is by far the worst of the instruments, at least with the RB microphone. Even on pitch and on easy, it judges extremely harshly and we cannot seem to figure out how to not fail on singing. If you just hum, it works better(but where's the fun in that?)
The drums are also annoying, because it's either extremely repetitive, to the point of playing the same rhythm the entire song, or it throws completely strange, off beat parts to it.
Oh! And you share star power, which creates problems when one person is failing.
Overall, I would suggest to anyone to try Rock Band first. If you want GHWT, I'd get the whole kit and use that equipment, because the software is very biased towards it(to the point you can't even run tutorials on RB equip).

The Instruments!

the drums: they are easy to use, activates star power very sensitive, has access to all ghwt features for drums, pads are very softer than rock band drums, and wireless!
the guitar: higher performance, detachable neck and body, awesome neck slider, two start buttons for lefty players, bigger star power button, bigger whammy, bigger strum bar, and an extra strap peg for lefty players.
the mic: higher performance, responds to clap, very long, and made by logtech.

SUPER FUN !!!

This game is so much fun. It's great cause you can get up to 4 people playing at once. The bad about this game is that it seems you can only create one band. On other guitar heros you can have multiple bands for career mode. Also the game does tend to freeze up or go offtrack, meaning that the singing part is not going with the music. It seems as if the music speeds up but not the lyrics and since there is a background singer you can tell what part of the song you are supposed to be singing but it does not match the words. This doesn't happen often enough for me not to love the game. The new features on the guitar take some serious getting used to but they are fun additions and I cannot wait to master them. The wah-wah bar is where you can hit keys without strumming. The guitar has an actual star power button that is right underneath your palm. No need to tilt when you're on a streak anymore just push with the palm of the hand your strumming with. The drums are solidly built, the foot pedal takes some getting used to but it's not so bad.The rockstar creator is very cool because you can customize your own character in almost anyway. From skin tone, eye color, outfit, even accessories. Long Story short Guitar Hero World Tour Rocks !!!Read full review...
