Small and works

As it is my first time using a financial calculator, I don't have much experience to go on, but so far it has been very easy to learn how to use. It's pretty straightforward, easy to read the display, and the color coded shift buttons are nice and keep it pretty compact. The little pouch that comes with it makes me feel fancy and keeps it separate from my other tools, so three cheers for that. All in all, good product.Read full review...

An HP without RPN is like a car without power steering.

It's an HP calculator so it has the feel and touch that only HP's have and after using them for 30+ years, for some reason I expected it to have RPN. It was something of a shock to realize that input and enter are two different concepts. Once I adjusted to that somehow I was able to adapt, but that doesn't mean I stopped searching,Read full review...

By far the #1 best financial calculator available

This is by far the best, basic financial calculator on the market. In this case, price doesn't matter; it has all the functions needed for many of the needs of accounting and finance students as well as accepted on the CFP exam. I recommend it to all my students since it is easy to learn to use, very intuative since you don't need to learn a bunch of steps in order to get an answer. For the price, usually about $40 in a store, it is very powerful. I can't go through all the details of what it can do since there are so many of them, but go to a listing and read the details there. It is a fairly long list. I have never had a student come to me later and state that the calculator was a waste of money. Most say it is really great and helped them get better grades on exams. It saves a lot of time compared to having to use tables or work out financial formulas, and time is important during a quiz or exam situation. So, overall, I can't find anything negative about this great little calculator considering it is designed for a novice user. However, if someone is looking for one with programming abilities and/or more sophisticated operations, they should look for the next model up. There are several models by HP that have all the bells and whistles for the expert user. For someone who has not been introduced to the abilities of a financial calculator this is the one, and only one, that can do the job. Its easy to learn, has lots of pre-programed functions and has a nice, professional look to it. In my opinion, having used HP calculators for over 10 years, this one is the very best one available on the market.Read full review...

HP 10b Calculater

I bought this for a financia course I'm taking at NYU. Although the offical recommendation was the 10bII - I found them to have almost the same functionality, and pretty similar key/function layout, and the 10b as an older model will cost you less $$$.

The user guide is very useful, and actually teaches you half of what you will learn in class, without paying for admission.

Compared to modern calculators, it takes some time to get used to the "older" design, the gray unlit single line display, but over all - it does the job perfectly every time.

Preference for the older model HP10

As I indicated in an earlier review...this review is for the HP10B and not the current model HP10Bii! The older model is of significantly higher quality than HP's current offing...the 10Bii! If you have the opportunity, buy the older model 10B, you will not be disappointed! The HP 10B financial calculator (NOT scientific) is second only to the SHARP 733A in quality and ease of use, as well as value in this type of calculator!Read full review...

One of the best calculators ever made.

This is a fabulous calculator. I think it's one of the best that HP made back in the 80's. It's very well constructed and easy to use. In my case, I use it for figuring out mortgage payments and amortization schedules. I already owned an HP 18C Business Consultant calculator (which is much more expensive), but the HP 10B serves my needs quite nicely and for a fraction of the price.Read full review...

Great Product

Love my “new” HP 10B.
I have a couple more but misplaced one. Easier to replace than spend hours looking for it.

Love this calculator

I am a mortgage processor and this has been my all time favorite calculator since I started in this business 20 years ago. This calculator is in great condition and will last me for many more years to come. I have 4 of them so I am sure I always have one handy when I need it.Read full review...

Old and Still Relevant

Vintage HP Business Calculators and their associated PRINTED manuals are a wonderful tool for understanding the time value of money and exactly what debt versus ownership does to your financial picture.

These should required education at all levels.
