Honestly way underrated

My wife and I are starting to homeschool our kids. We needed a color printer for the curriculum material. Inkjet are to me the worst possible experience in color printing. Ink lasted 100 pages the most and if you don’t use it it dries up.

Laser was the way to go but they were so expensive! Found this one here and after checking the reviews decided to go for it (was a bit afraid it wouldn’t work out as good as we thought).

The printer is amazing, color quality is 9/10, people that say otherwise maybe they are looking for perfection or they work in the color business.

The OEM starter ink lasted a long time, I replaced the black at 468 sheets. It’s worth to note that our sheets don’t have at all the 5% covered area they calculate the yield with. Some impressions with rather large batches were at least 50%.

My wife reported random shutdowns mid printing, checked the event log and apparently the files we used were kind of heavy so the memory got full.

Inexpensive, good basic color laser. Print quality not as expected. Not as clear as I had wanted, color or black. Cannot find how to adjust beyond 600 dpi or to improve?

This printer hooked right up to HP smart. Simple and easy install. Took me a few days to figure out the duplex auto print. As Hp doesn’t give you a lot of info. Long time HP printer user here. Previous m251nw (2 of them) served me well so gave this one a try. Faster, quieter, easy to set up & duplex printing. Get one! I will be curious how generic cartridges work.

Nice color laser printer, duplex printing, expensive toner

First tests look good. Duplex printing is a big plus. But understand, it comes with a set of "starter" toner cartridges; a complete set of "standard" cartridges cost more than the printer.
