Takes great pictures & easy to use.

Purchased this camera as a gift for a relative that wanted something simple to use, had good capacity, and could easily get prints when wanted. I have had an HP PhotoSmart camera for 9 years so knew it would be a good gift. Think it's fabulous. Takes great photos & videos. Has many features; zoom; view/playback; delete; flash control; self timer; many camera settings. Easy to transfer from memory card to my PC where I can organize, edit and print.

The only downside is that I find that the batteries do not last very long. At first used rechargeable NiMH batteries but that did not work that well so switched and always make sure I have plenty of fresh batteries available.

No Memory Card

I lost my camera identical to this one and was happy to be able to buy another. However, it requires a 32 mb and the only card I could find is 32 gb. The camera says it can't format the gb card. So, the camera will not work. I am on the hunt for the mb card. Then, I will be happy.Read full review...

Good Camera

The price on this photosmart m525 is fair. The pictures are sharp and it is a true point and shoot camera. However, the memory is very lax, in fact the camera is useless without an add on memory card which you can pick up for an additional fifty dollars or so. The screen is also very tiny compared to other cameras in the price range. The camera is small but so are canons with screens twice as large. But for just the weekend photographer, the camera is excellent.Read full review...

Good Camera

High quality pictures, easy to use, great price. I like the somewhat concealed "on/off" switch because you can't turn it on unintentionally and use up batteries. Uses batteries pretty quickly but I guess that's typical of digitals. Display screen is kinda' small but all in all, I really like this camera.Read full review...

Good photos for the price, but slow refresh limits use

(Note, this is a general review of this model of camera, not of the particular unit I won.)

The M525 is a decent, but not spectacular, camera. It takes pretty good photos, but the refresh time between photos can be long. After taking a series of them, it can sit at a "Processing" screen for long periods of time.

One nice feature is a second button to start up recording video. It's handy and just far enough out of the way to prevent hitting it by accident.

Overall, it's a good cheap digicam to keep on hand for the occasional photo. But it's not very usable for taking a load of photos at a time.

I bought one through eBay specifically to match an M525 I already owned, for the purpose of mounting them side-by-side in order to take 3D photos.

BEWARE compatibility issues with all in one printers

Since I bought my Hewlett Packard Media Center PC, I decided that any hardware added to this computer, would be HP also. When my printer died, I went out and purchased the HP PSC 2350 All In One printer. I love it. Now, I'm wanting to list some items on ebay, so naturally I start checking out the ebay auctions, and find a NIB HP Photosmart M525 6.0. I bid, I win, I'm sorry. I had researched the product on the HP website and liked the ease of use and the 6.0 megapixel quality. During the research, there was no mention of the incompatibility with the all in one printers, I found that out after installation of the camera and software.
After installation, my computer started acting up. Freezing up, shutting down, until it shut down and wouldn't boot back up. When it would come back on, all I got was the windows loading screen, over and over again. I had to perform a system recovery on the computer and lost all my files. Needless to say, I was quite upset with the whole ordeal, and I visited the HP website again and did the online chat. That is how I found out about the compatibility issues.
Although that has all been straightened out, and the camera is easy to use, I am very disappointed with the overall photo quality or editing software.

Canon 3

This is the 2nd Canon M525 I've bought. The first one went to Japan with me and susuently went out of commission when it was dropped from a sizaable distanec. however, I have a great history with the thing, so I bought a repalcement and loved it now (and am more careful). Its a good casual consumer camera, eats battery a little fast, and take pretty good pictures for the size, price, and specs.Read full review...

This little camera has great features, is easy to use, & produces good pix.

This little camera is perfect for the beginner digital photographer. The directions are easy to follow and everything is pretty much automatic. It also has a very short lag time between photos, so chasing a toddler, a group of kids, or your pets around trying to take pictures is so much easier. Just SNAP, SNAP, SNAP!

I bought this camera for a friend of mine who has several grandkids but lost her camera in a move. It was a fantastic buy because it came with a printer, a carrying case for the printer, and a small carrying case for the camera, PLUS 75 sheets of 4"x6" photo paper! The seller was quite generous!

HP PhotoSmart M525 6.0 Megapixel

I have not had the opportunity to use the camers as much as I would like to. However I have found it to function quite well. I really have only one negative concerning the camera. I find the on/off button to be lacking. I seem to have problems with it. I am aware the problem could be with the operator and not the camera. The pictures I have taken have turned out really good. So, all in all the camera is a buy that I do not regret. My previous digital camera we want talk about except to say I want go there again.

Great starter camera and a great value

Nice starter camera. Got it for my wife as her first digital camera so she could play around. Great for that purpose. Features esay to figure out without a manual. Picture quality good for small prints. Flash eats batteries but that's normal for AA cameras. Overall don't expect miracles but a great value for the money.Read full review...

very good camera, easy to use, good picture

Pros:
1. cheap, this is the reason i notice this camera. ebay is selling this much cheaper than officedepot, staples.
2. easy to use. this camera is very easy to setup. with the internal memory i can take several pictures after a few secs i put in the battery.
3. the picture is good, some how even better than my old canon a70.
Cons: the power button is not so easy to push.
Summary: very good camera i can find on ebay around 120 bucks.
