Works as intended, but very costly to the comsumer.

Over all the wireless adapter does EXACTLY as advertised. My biggest complaints are; 1. The provided batter pack will only last 1-2 hours and takes a very long time to recharge. Is overly expensive compared to other batter packs of the same specs. 2. The Vive wireless software does not mesh well with steam VR (as of yet) you absolutely have to have the HMD connected to the vive wireless program before starting SteamVR or it will bug out. However, the biggest benefit is that any QC 3.0 battery pack WILL work (HTC says it will void your warranty if it breaks the adapter). Read full review...

works most of the time

The wireless adapter works -- most of the time. Unfortunately, most of the time means it's really annoying to deal with. Part of my particular problem is where the "front" of my play area is is not where the computer is so i need to find a new mount location for the receiver. I *think* that will fix some of my issues, but the random "cutting out" is really annoying, and based on other reviews, I'm certain that it's an obstruction issue between the receiver and the antennas.Read full review...

Works as advertised. Need both really good GPU and processor.

It works as advertised. It works better if you have a better processor. Some games were pixelated, and I have i7 6700 processor. GTX980ti. I think in future, developers will provide patches to improve performance and stability. I was able to improve performance by fiddling with priority levels in "Task Manager".Read full review...

Performance depends on your PC.

Works perfect with a strong cpu and video card. I had it on an intel i5 with a gtx 1080 and worked great on the original vive. When I tried it on my vive pro, it stuttered so much. Switched the vr to my ryzen 2700x and vega 64 build and the pro works flawless. So it depends on the build.Read full review...

Easier to setup than the tpcast but requires an open pcix slot

Very easy and straight forward to setup... Works perfect..... Any battery with quick charge 3.0 capability will work as a replacement

Converting the HTC Vive headset to wireless improves the VR immersion significantly.

This device lets a user of an HTC Vive headset trade the cable that goes back to the host computer (and always gets wound up when you get active in VR) for a cable that goes to a battery pack (that you keep on your body, typically hanging from a belt or in a pocket).

The battery cable does not get wound up, and you can ditch all the ceiling suspension rigs you may have created to try and manage the headset cable. If the battery gets loose and falls to the floor, it might unplug itself from the power cable on the way down. It will probably survive the fall, but your VR session may not.

You may end up recovering from a battery disconnect (or a battery run down condition) by establishing a connection with a charged battery, and then starting up VR and your game again. Battery life with the provided batteries is about 2 hours each, plus or minus a few minutes.

Outstanding VR Upgrade

If you're looking for a serious upgrade for your Vive, this is it. Provided you have a good CPU/GPU it works flawlessly and allows so much freedom. If you have a large playspace, you no longer need to worry about being restricted because the cable snagged on something. If you have a small one, no more fretting about twisting up the cable as you spin around. I'd say that the availability of this adapter alone gives the original vive/cosmos a significant advantage over newer headsets like the index.Read full review...

Vive wireless is awesome

Overpriced but works great - just be sure to have a newer processor i7 or higher! Too bad the battery doesn’t last longer, and just too heavy to mount on the headset as well.

good for what it is

Great product. It loses track of the headset a little too much and I have to restart, but otherwise it's a pleasure to use. Htc needs to come down on the price though.

It works ok but not great.

It requires extra processing and GPU power that your PC might not have needed if you used you Vive with cable.
