Excellent and versitle little tv

Broadcast TV receiver receives fine. the battery charging light does not work while charging. NBD. These are nice little emergency TVs that are perfect for power outages or just set on your desk to monitor a game or event while working. Pair with a Bluetooth transmitter and Bluetooth headphones, and an hdmi to rca converter. My son has one and uses his iPhone, iPhone to hdmi adapter, hdmi to rca, a homemade headrest mount for his daughter to watch on a LONG trip. Mom controls the iPhone and what she watches. I own four of these TVs, and would buy a couple more, if needed.

I have four of these puppies. I use two above my computer monitor, for security cameras and TV feed from my DirecTV sat receiver. I have one above main TV for security cam feed, and use the forth one for line/coax/signal testing. If I could find a couple more at a really good price, I'd buy more. It has a remote, and for the four units I own, the remotes are NOT interchangeable. Which is great for my applications. It get both ATSC and NTSC, with a tripod mount hole on the bottom. They can be mounted in any location with a 1/4"/20 bolt. With the composite and RF inputs, they can be connected to about video device. It also have a micro USB jack for "upgrades", but I've never received an upgrade for them, yet. (I'm not even sure how or where to get the upgrades, yet.) For off air reception I would suggest a better antenna than the one that comes with it. I've only used mine in the city and I still needed a better antenna. I've had good luck with a attic antenna, and with an attic Shortwave antenna wire. Great to use as monitors for your video needs. My only complaints are the antenna reception, and the varied response with the remotes. I rarely use the remotes due to my units being used for specific video feeds.

Simple TV for simple viewing

I bought this TV as a screen to review my digital photos while I'm on the road. For this purpose the TV is almost useless since the resolution is so low, but as a TV it's terrific. I live in a high rise with a clear line of sight to the Empire State Building so reception is excellent even without an antenna. The unit was purchased used without a remote so I'm unable to utilize all features. If you want a simple TV for simple viewing this is okay, but a unit with higher resolution would be better for critical purposes.Read full review...

Great little TV. Needs better antenna.

- Great little TV. BUT...in some areas you will definitely need to buy a better antenna. I tried an old antenna I had, and was able to pull in 4 stations immediately. Stations I could access had beautiful pictures! Someone recommended getting an RCA Performance Series Indoor Antenna (model ANT111). It's available at best buy for about $10. I will buy that tomorrow for sure.
- I like the "rubberized" finish. It appears to be durable.
- I bought this mainly as a backup when the cable goes out, and for bad weather/hurricane season.
- If the new antenna works, I will probably end up using it at my desk and in the kitchen. I'm really impressed with how clear the picture is! I got it for a REALLY great price, too!Read full review...

Haier HLT71 shortcomings

Great little TV...If you understand a few of the limitations of the design. ATSC signals are NOT as strong as the OLD NTSC analog signals. So, expect some signal drop out in certain areas. ATSC signals will NOT work in moving vehicles. Now for the TV itself: Most of these are NOT defective. Major complaint is that it will not "remember" scanned channels in memory after it is turned off, you need to re-scan each time you turn it back on. This is true because of the EPROM (memory chip) being of low capacity memory. If you keep the channel memory list below 40-45 memorized channels you will be OK. In metro areas where there are more channels available, if you scan and retain all channels in memory and EXCEED 40-45 channels, or if you scan with a roof antenna, so more channels are picked up, it will not remember any of them once powered down, because you have overwhelmed he EPROM (cheap, poor design? perhaps) If you live in an area with less available channels, or dump the ones you do not watch, you will be Ok. The TV will remember and retain all channels as well as all other personalized settings. If you are OK with this design limitation, you will love this TV. It is a real value.Read full review...

This product is amazing! Just what I needed!

These are awesome and easy to use for you everyday things, whether it's just TV, movies or games! This portable can it all and with its built in A/V audio and video ports, you can hook up your games and DVD players! I never these even existed! For the price I got this, it is just awesome! Im a young kid and I found this absolutely useful! I can watch TV on it anywhere and play my games on it anywhere for my convenience too! 10/10! Money well spent!Read full review...

Haier HLT71 7" Portable TV

I bought it to keep me "entertained" while working on my website, uploading items, when especially my favorite tv programs are playing. IF you use it plugged into a cable box, it works divinely.
<br>Initially I tried to use it pulling stations from the air, but could not achieve any stations, no matter how I oriented the antenna.

You MUST use this unit's remote to have it work properly as well.

Picture quality is excellent. Sound is rather low, but as my hearing is excellent, this is not a problem.Read full review...

Great little TV

This is an excellent small DIGITAL TV. I bought this as an adjunct for my work space (computer room) at home. The advent a few years ago of the digital age rendered my DVR almost obsolete, as well as any other small television I had. I can still record on it but have to also watch that station as well. When one is recording a Nascar race or football game, etc. this gets horrible for me when I am working as well. I bought this as an adjunct and it is working beautifully. I can now actually watch something else while recording. This does pick up many over-the-air channels in my area.

My only complaint is that I pretty much have to channel surf through the stations to get to the one I wish to watch. (This could be operator error, but I do not believe so as I have tried everything I know of). This is a little annoying but, on the whole. Haier Digital TV

When analog signal was finally replaced with digital I did not think about my radio with television bands that I used to listen at work would no longer work. I was only thinking picture quality and not the sound with this change. I went to Ebay to see if there were any digital radios that also had television bands and there was one. I bought it but I could not get any reception on it and was unable to scan for chanels as it had 5 preset to God knows where and can't be changed.
I had to tell you that story to get to this one.
I went back to Ebay and did my search again up came this Haier TV. I was familiar with the name so I bid and won it. It is absolutely great and I received it very quickly too. Not only did it fit the description it was better. It has three different power sources A/C, car charger and battery. It came with adapter cables and has in and out jacks for connecting to other components. None of this was listed on the posting so I was very surprised and pleased. When I set it to scan it found 44 chanels. The picture quality and sound are great. This will come in so handy when the power is out or my Direct TV satelite is not receiving because of cloud cover.
