One of my favorite games!

Half-Life still holds up great today, two decades after its initial release! While the graphics are clearly dated, the great environment and level design keep the game fresh even by modern scrutiny. I enjoy having a boxed copy for my collection, though I would recommend that anyone wanting to play it nowadays for the first time should just pick up the Steam version. It is updated for modern hardware and operating systems and is much smoother experience overall than the original Sierra CD version, though it is possible to get this version and its expansions running on Windows 10 with only a moderate amount of time and effort. The greatest video game of all time

Still a classic

Can't really add to what millions must have already said. This game is a classic, and if you can get through Valve's Steam Application (which is getting better all the time and is well maintained) or have the rare opportunity to have an original copy of the game this definitely a must buy. All new purchases of this game will require an internet connection and registration through steam though (no resale here). I was still able to save a few dollars off of the online purchase through steam though ($9.99 at the time) Also, the game has been upgraded I believe with better hardware compatibility and greater resolution and sound options (widescreen an option).Read full review...

One of the best games of all time.

I have been a Half-life fan ever since I laid my eyes on the franchise. The deep story line, interesting puzzles, and a variety of characters and enemies have brought a new level of excitement that was not existent before this game. Great game

Very nice game, a lot of fun to play. When I did get it up and running on my PC set up, I like how this is a game with a very nicely written story and there is some meaning to why and what you are doing the things that you do in the game. I also like how the game adjusts for how much your graphics of your PC can handle. It only displays the effects and things that your Graphics Card/Set up will allow for. So if you have a high end set up it will display all the effects that you can see. If your set up can not handle all the pretty effects it tones them down so you can still play and see some of the great effects.Read full review...

The best game ever, with no questions asked.

I've played almost all the FPS's for the PC. F.E.A.R, Farcry, even this game's sequel, Half-Life 2. Nothing has stood up to it. Even though the graphics aren't the greatest the game its self is what draws you in. Half-Life is based on a science experiment gone wrong in a test center known as Black Mesa. Your a scientist Gordon Freeman who has to escape from the mercs who have invaded. As you progress you fight Marines, Aliens and Zombies (headcrab zombies). Along with that the game has a gripping storyline that'll have you wanting more. If you can find it this game is defently worth picking up or buying on ebay.Read full review...

Half Life

First of all, a warning. If you are running Windows XP, the game will not play out of the box. I am still trying to get all the patches and updates to get it to work, and I'm not sure if it will in the end, so you should look into this prior to purchasing the game (assuming you are running XP or Vista).

This game is has a good storyline and full of action. Various environments to do battle on. It is an excellent game. I loved it.
