A Script - Not a Story

Begin reading this book by keeping in mind this is not a story but a script of a play. The author, succeeded again in intertwining the characters throughout the whole book from beginning to end. She definitely kept the whole
Harry Potter series continuing through the Cursed Child. In one sense, I truly wish Ms. Rowling would have written this as a sequel.

overall of the book

it read like a play - with each character listed as saying whatever, so if you don't like those types of set ups in your books then this one - probably isn't for you, however if your a big harry potter fan, then you can easily overlook this. It's a great book, it takes place after harry has his own child, 19 years later after the defeat of voldemort.... but is he really gone????
read this today and get caught up in the story of the harry potter world all over again!!

Final Book in Harry Potter Series

This was a gift fot my 10 yr. old Grandson for Easter. He had read all of the serires of nine and this last book was his request fior Easter. He absolutely loved this series and he read this series in a matter of 1 month or less. This particular last book is the story of Harry Potter grown up. The book is printed in Play-Like form. We have yet to hear what his thoughts were on it.Read full review...

Very successful play worth reading but not like the novels.

Needless to say, a play is not a novel. Reading it requires quite a bit of imagination. This play probably was remarkable on stage. It won all kinds of awards. I lost content trying to figure out how they managed the special effects! It didn't catch me up--although my husband liked it a lot. A must, however, for Potter fans. Originally cost $30 and my new or like new copy was a fraction of that. Guess it didn't sell that well. Don't be confused by the "Rehearsal Edition." Only some stage direction was included which would be part of any script. Sadly, I could find no photos of the production on line and J.K. didn't want it filmed. A shame.Read full review...

overall great

the only thing that i didn't like about this book was the format. Its apparently a screen play placed into a book form. once you get the format down its not a big deal. just expected it to be formatted more like the other books is all. was a great story and really enjoyed the content!Read full review...

The Eighth Story. Nineteen Years Later.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

HP the Next Generation

Overall, a good story. Written as a play, but still interesting to follow. Ron & Hermione's daughter is a bit stuck up--never really showed any character growth like her parents did in the original HP series. Would've loved to see her more involved with Albus & Scorpios. Glad to see Harry & Draco moved out of the past. Draco was made more relatable in this story. In fact, his son was my favorite character. Albus got on my nerves, but so did Harry. Still, a good read.Read full review...

I recommend them, not quite the book

The story was sadly disappointing - basically fan-fic Harry Potter, but buying from these guys was great! Order got here sooner than projected, I ordered three different books and got a discount which basically gave me the tax back (yay!) And they came well packed. The books are used library books, but I knew that and didn't anticipate anything fancy at all, but the books are dang near untouched seeming! Nice and fresh :)Read full review...
