Enjoyed the original as it appeared on tv many years ago starting 1968. Cast is super excellent and love the Hawaiian flavor to the script. Location is beautiful, Hawaii in the late 1960's, even the city scapes are eye candy. Minus the excessive graphic violence and language used these days on tv. "ain't no big thing Bro". While the first season of Hawaii Five-0 had a somewhat slower pace, the Second Season really sets the standard for the following seasons. Hawaii Five-O second season set

I was a devoted watcher of the series when it aired on TV. Made me want to vacation in Hawaii someday. Watching these DVD's brings it all back. The quality of the transfer is excellent-- when I pause playback, I don't hardly see any indication that this is a transfer from film. easy to navigate, pleasure to watch. Highly reccomend to anyone. I'll be buying the rest of the sets as soon as i'm finished watching this one. Hope that seasons 7 thru 12 are produced soon!Read full review...

The beginning of the Great Police Dramas

It's easy to see why this show was on for 12 years. The stories are still good today. Jack Lord plays the intense by-the-book Steve McGarrett that everyone respects and all criminals fear. He has his steady workforce by his side to bring everyone to justice. Very Kool

Watching this show is like being on vacation. Too often cop dramas take place in crowded, dirty cities (Kojak, Law and Order, NYPD Blue, Hill Street and just about every other cop show) but this one takes place in beautiful Hawaii. Watching it clears your mind from the grime and stress of everyday life. That is why this show lasted over 10 seasons.

Solid Show---entertaining

A very interesting show which I recall watching w. my father (a state police officer) back in the late 1960's.

The show was very pro Military (Pearl Harbor) and pro Police for the difficult work they do.

A TV series that is worth watching 20 years later!

We purchased these early Hawaii Five O DVDs because my son bought us the 10th season for Christmas and we ate those up. The character development and plotlines are much better than you will see on TV these days and it is wonderful to watch hour long dramas that are actually close to an hour long (unlike 30-40 minutes with commercial breaks nowadays). The quality of the DVD is very high and we cannot find anything about which we are not thrilled.Read full review...
