For Maintenance & Repairs. A must have tool for all responsible car owners

WARNING-DO NOT confuse a “Repair Manual” with and “Owners Manual” they are two totally different books!

I use a Repair Manual on all my vehicles, even if I take it to a shop for repairs.
You need this even if you do not do the maintenance yourself. These manuals show you the proper maintenance schedule for your vehicle.

As an example, most people miss changing the filter and fluid on their transmission.
Then a shop may say it needs to be done and the customer may think the shop is just trying to add things to do. Then their transmission goes out from lack of maintenance.
So when a shop tells you need maintenance, you can go to the book and verify.
Do not rely on a dealer or a paid maintenance plan to cover all the maintenance properly. Make sure they are doing all that that needs to be done and on time.
If you follow the maintenance schedule in the repair manual your car will last a long time with fewer problems.

This helps for repairs you do yourself or if you are having it done. Take the guessing out of the job. The book tells you the proper steps to take when doing the repairs. It will show you tools and specifications for the repair with pictures and diagrams.
This can help when you have an estimate for a repair.
As an example: If you go in for an estimate on a timing belt and they tell you to replace the water pump because it is right there and it will take the same amount of labor to replace it in the future so you should just do it now since it will only cost $50 more.
Well you can go right to the repair manual and it will tell you if that is correct.
So you can come back with an educated answer. I know too many people who did not change the pump and regretted it later because they thought the mechanic was trying to just add something else to the bill. All that trouble and money it cost them just because they didn’t have a repair manual to refer to.
It can help you decide if you want to do the repair yourself or take it in to the shop. You can read the manual first and know exactly what you are getting yourself into.
It can help you when you call around for estimates. You can use all the right words to describe your part or repair.
The cost for a service manual is cheaper than an oil change and will save you from problems and lost money. It’s a good investment in you and your car.Read full review...
