Hexen - A N64 Classic

When one looks at the history of video games, there tends to be a few categories games fall under: Legendary, Great but Forgotten, and well, Terrible. Hexen could have fallen under Legendary, but instead it fell under Great but Forgotten. Hexen was just as good, if not better, than gaming giants of the time (I'm looking at you Golden Eye and Perfect Dark), but was completely overshadowed. The game features a robust amount of levels, a slew of unique enemies, and depth that other more "realistic" fps games (Like Golden Eye) simply couldn't offer. Awesome Creepy Strategy Game for N64

This is an awesome game to have for N64, but not for the faint at heart when it comes to monsters, creepy effects and dark magic. Now, don't get me wrong, this game looks like a joke compared to most games today like on Xbox 360 with plenty of gore & blood & guts. While it may suffer from some somewhat wonky controls and a hefty saveblock cost on the N64, HeXen is is a great addition to any library where shooters are welcome. Hexen

With the selection of 3 characters the replay level is great and it has a challenging level system which for me is great as most games i get i complete in a week or two with 12 different weapons though 4 for each character, and different stats for each class (mage,cleric,fighter) the games never the same. Even though im a hexen fan i too must admitt that unless you greatly enjoy first person or hexen games this isnt the one to buy.
But as a bonus the 1st person style has a push of the rpg genre making it great.
Big downfall: One save game uses 75% of the controller pak 90 pages of the thing.Read full review...
