Nice product - shouldn't have waited so long to get one!
My house is not noisy, neither is my street. My neighbors dogs on the other hand, can be! I have not noticed a single dog bark since getting this. I would rate 5 stars, but as some other reviews have stated it shuts itself off at random. After a bunch of testing, i believe this is volume related. I have the volume set a little below halfway now, if I turn it up it will shut off on its own at some random time.

Very Loud but annoying looping chirps
It sounds loud a very good until a couple hrs being on its starts making very annoying weird chirping , clicking , slight buzzing like harmonic overtones that actually wake you up and keep you up . Too bad because the volume is Great but those horrible annoying looping sounds kick in after a couple hrs , then stop sometimes, then start up again . Sleep Like a Baby
I love my white noise! Have had a mechanical white noise generator for 30 years. After a while it sucked up dust, needed to be cleaned, oiled, babied and then died. Lo and behold my son had this unit and I loved it. Decided I had to have it. Found it here for half retail. Unit was barely if ever used. Excellent for blocking out external noises
This machine is amazing! I live on a very busy street and it blocks out most of the street noise. The sound may not be as natural as when standing right next to the ocean, but it's pretty close. It has four different types of sounds and you can change the tone and volume as you please. It definitely beats using the fan or vent which I have done occasionally to block out noise.
