Must have add on to generator.
The already fantastic Honda Generators have a lot of features most people do not or rarely use. What do you do when our in the wilds of the outback, desert, forest or big city and your main vehicle battery drains out. Call a tow truck or pay for a break down service that cost multiplies of $100's per year? Or buy a $12 to $15 dollar set of charger cables to run from your generator to any battery you own and wait a little while for it to do its magic? Seems like a no brainer to me.
Well made, inexpensive and easily storable. You need one. Read full review

Overpriced junk.
Buy only as a last resort. I bought it off ebay only for convenience and regret it.
Home depot sells 12 ft standard automotive style jump start cables for about half the retail price of these things. They're sold as a Honda accessory but are nowhere near Honda quality. The alligator clips are not fit to be used as clothes pins. Will it charge your car or boat battery? Yes. But how many times before literally falling apart is the question. I bought it as a backup for two 80w solar panels on my sailboat, connected to 12v deep cycle storage batteries, using the Honda eu2200i generator to power an 8000 btu air conditioner. The electrical wires used for this item are of table lamp quality and kept short to keep them from overheating and melting off the thin plastic insulation. My suggestion is to look for a plug that will fit the Honda, and get some decent cord in a longer length and heavier guage, along with well made clips. Read full review

Might get me out of a jam someday!
The 12 volt DC charge from generator is not regulated so it won't shut off automatically when battery is charged. But for a quick charge this cord could be a life saver if mine or someone else's battery runs down. Although I haven't used it yet it was very reasonably priced and a great back-up accessory to have. Quality of clamps, cord and plug seem more than adequate for this product so I am giving it a 5 star rating before even using it!Read full review

Genuine Honda parts
Good Honda part,. Only one problem it didn't fit my brand new eu 2200i generator. It fits the previous generation 2200 generator.

Practicing isolation
During these rough times that this world has not seen since the plages that ravaged the early settlers, the backcountry campground that my family has inhabited for 50 years just got an upgrade. A couple of deep cell batteries and a EU3000i Honda generator and this battery charger cables will keep us with enough electricity to tough it out here at Land between the lakes.Read full review

Very good quality at a reasonable price
The generators unregulated charging outlet should not be used for general battery charging. It is best to use an intelligent battery charger connected to the generators AC outlets.
The unregulated charger is good for emergencies and charging a battery when the AC side is powering other loads. The unregulated power is derived from a different internal winding and maintains the starting battery and also the outlet for this cord.
The cord and plug are very good quality and the battery clips are adequate. A must-have for disaster preparedness to fully utilize the generator.Read full review

Great Accesory for Owners of Honda Generators
Highly recommended for owners of compatible Honda generators, especially the smaller EU's.
It will not "jump start" a vehicle, that is not the design.
What it will do is charge a battery at a sufficient amp rate that will allow users of almost any vehicle to get started without a dedicated charger or external "jump".
NOTE: Above statement assumes battery in discharged condition only, not a "bad" battery or vehicle that has other electrical issues.

Charged and ready to go!
So far it has been used only once in a testing situation, but works great. It plugs into the generator without any effort. Charges as advertised Nice to have on board for my RV trips and possible use for my trolling battery for my boat. Read full review

Charging cables for charging....
It's Honda brand and is compatible with their generators. The clips for attaching to a battery are large enough for that since the idea is to charge the battery, not start the vehicle (starting current can be high, up to 200 amps at 12 volts and would require much larger cables and attachment clips but this is a charging cable so that is irrelevant). I recommend these for their intended purpose and because they are Honda branded and made for Honda equipment. Read full review
